I don’t need to watch a replay to confirm how bad of a performance that was by South Carolina. Don’t get me wrong, Georgia is a good team and might be a top 10 team, but that was an embarrassing performance for South Carolina.

I don’t know where to start with the defense. It was ugly from start to finish. It looked like several players flat out gave up and shouldn’t have been in the game. It was bad all the way around for the defense but I don’t know if the linebackers and secondary can play much worse than they did tonight.

For some reason the defensive staff continues to play soft coverage with the cornerbacks. My assumption is they just don’t trust them at all right now. They made Grayson Lambert look like a Heisman candidate tonight. I didn’t agree with the gameplan at all.

The Georgia offensive line absolutely dominated up front all night. They did whatever they wanted to do. The pass rush was nonexistent and the run defense was just as bad. There continues to be missed tackles, poor angles, players not lined up properly, and it looks like the defensive backs lack ball skills. It was just very bad overall.

I don’t think the offense played as bad as the defense but they definitely weren’t good. I thought it was another below average performance by the offensive line. I do want to say that I thought it was a nice start for Zack Bailey at center.

I didn’t think Perry Orth played bad but he needs help around him for him to be successful. He didn’t get that at all tonight. There were a couple balls that he made a solid throws but the receiver couldn’t make a tough catch. The running game wasn’t good unless Lorenzo Nunez was in the game at quarterback.

They will probably continue to play both quarterbacks going forward but I do think they need to take a long look at starting Nunez. I think he can do more with this offense as things stand right now. The bottom line is there isn’t that much talent on this team and they need someone like Nunez under center.

I thought Nunez looked poised when in the game. He definitely didn’t look afraid. His play was one of very few bright spots for the Gamecocks in this one.

Steve Spurrier mentioned that changes were needed after this game. Unless things change drastically this season, I think major changes need to happen. This team needs more talent on the field on both sides of the ball and they need better recruiters. They are staring at a losing season right now.
