Is that synthetic dirt? It looks much different than the pitchers mound. I know the grass is fake but trying to figure out if the dirt is too. Good game going on btw with them and CSF.

Pitchers mound is dirt, everything else is fake. Synthetic whatever you wanna call it

Nope that's why I was confused. Not even the batters box has dirt in it. Weird. This is the first synthetic baseball field I've ever seen.

Vanderbilt has the same thing and on their field even the batters box is turf. Only the pitchers mound is real dirt.

I think it's funny when people say "turf" when they mean "synthetic turn" or "artificial turf". For my home, I can put in grass seed or (grass) turf. These people must not own houses. BTW, no one in this thread did this, this is just an observation relative to other people.

I understand artificial turf in certain areas of the country, but there's no excuse for schools in the south.

Y'all do realize that part of ours is synthetic also, right? I was given 2nd row seats to a game this year and was surprised to see that the field from the baselines to the stands is artificial. (about halfway up each basebline) At least it's apparently high quality...you can't really tell unless you're close to it.

Got to. That area gets lots of foot traffic during games. Makes sense, but I just hope that's the extent of the fake stuff.
