Hall of Fame coach-turned-broadcaster John Madden, whose exuberant calls combined with simple explanations provided a weekly soundtrack to NFL games for three decades, died Tuesday morning. He was 85.

Aw man…… I actually googled whether he was still alive or not the other day. He’s been out of the public eye for so long now, I just wasn’t sure if he was still with us. But yes, a football legend gone.

Crazy considering the timing of the documentary that just came out about him. Was run on Christmas Day but can be streamed in January. I’ll have to watch that.

Terrible news. I loved Madden. Impressive....he was such a large man and still made it to 85.
