He was a true Gamecock. I was 8 years old when I listened to the Texas game on the radio. It was one of the first games I listened to in its entirety. A few weeks later I attended my first game at Carolina stadium. It was a close loss to NC State. King, Alex Hawkins, Bobby Bunch and Tommy Addison were some of my favorite players on that team. Those were the men that got me hooked on Carolina sports.
I salute a great athlete, Marine, and just a great person. It was a privilege to have seen him play.
