You know who is not impressive….Raven Johnson…..she needs to stop shooting…..
Hardest working player on the team. The other bigs on the team should take lessons from her.
So TRUE! If everyone else elevated to match her play nobody could touch this team.
She will have to carry the torch during the Post Season, not many others that are reliable..
But last year she started hitting some of those in the postseason. I think Staley wants her to keep trying.
I was super happy to see the Tessa Johnson from last season's NCAA tourney run show up. First time in awhile. She can be a game changer.
As long as we have a strong inside game Tessa should prosper with her mid-range and long-ball.
She was on fire today….wow!!! 25 points and 10 rebounds. Her third double-double (one being a triple-double). In three games. Looks like our top three bigs (Kitts, Edward, Feagin) are working together much better lately.
Amazing how much talent is on this team, that might be their best game yesterday. They were challenged and responded in a big way! Dawn's only problem is keeping everyone happy with playing time, I understand you have to give girls a rest, but when someone is hot they need to stay in there and keep getting the ball. Kitts has always seemed like a role player to me, she does all the dirty work and most of her points have been scraps, well guess what she is a force and they need to work more offense through her than around her, she's really been much more impressive as of late!
She definitely has game but she still leaves a good bit to be desired. There are several times she should initiate the contact and make the shot. She can't go straight up in the paint. Going to get blocked and she knows it, which is why she is hesitant. There are several times she should jump into the defender to draw the contact and still be able to get the shot up. Just my .02. I hate Raven can't shoot well. Other than her shot she is the best player on the team.
I will have to add, whatever she was doing, apparently works. Let’s see if she can even get better in Big Dance.
Maybe not impressive offensively, but she's dang sure impressive defensively. She also rebounds very well for a 5'9 guard. We rebound by committee this year (due to being smaller inside), and she's more than pulling her part. The same can be said about Bree Hall. If it weren't for their defense, we wouldn't have won another SEC title.
