There's a break. Klubnik missed Wesco with a step. And a second break, as there's only a 30-yard punt. Little biut into the wind, but just looked like a shank. Gamecocks get it at their own 25 after Clemson had a chance to flip the field.
Sellers steps up, avoids the rush, hits a crossing Jared Brown for 12 yards. Nice bounce back after Harbor had a tough incompletion the play before on a PBU.
Never any chance on that one as the blitz gets home for the sack. Gamecocks will have to punt it away. I begin to wonder if you might want to give someone with a quicker step a shot at RT.
And another sack. I know in-game benchings aren't really a thing Beamer does but man, Cason Henrhy just looks beyond overwhelmed right now. Clemson is just picking on him. Kroeger blasts a 57-yard punt to get you the field position edge back, though.
South Carolina hasn't forced a 3-and-out all day. Not going to say you need to find one here, but if you can, Clemson would be punting basically out of its own end zone.
Man, Clemson almost got a first down there on a delayed draw, but two yards short. Gamecocks do indeed get that first three and out of the game. Juju McDowell finds a little space on the return and almost gets to midfield. Gamecocks have a chance here with 2:50 left in the first half.
There's just not an answer up front. Other than the Ole Miss game, it feels like the first time all year I've watched a game and straight up said "they can't block them"
Brown finds a little space to get to about 4th and 3 near midfield at the two-minute break. I think with your defense the move is probably to play conservative here, but I wouldn't hate trying to create a spark either, just a risky proposition
I think you have to punt this. You're just not blocking well enough to feel good about the prospect of converting this. Also looks like they're moving the spot back a little, it's gonna be more than 3.
And now he hits Moore again for another first down, first timeout with 50 seconds left in the half. Tigers still probably about 25-30 yards from FG range, but more than enough time. Defense needs to bow up here.
Klubnik under pressure, throws a lame duck over the middle, and just about a yard or two short for OD Fortune, who would've had an easy interception. Clemson is lucky Klubnik couldn't get more juice on that.
The always great spectacle of Clemson students trying to lean into the press box to see on the TVs what the call will be. Think they blew the window budget on orange smoke for pre-game. Play overturned.
