I haven't followed the team since Martin departed for UMass. Lamont Paris seems like a good coach and stand up guy and I know he was handed a pretty bare cupboard, but we did get some big school transfers. Are we struggling due to chemistry, coaching, or talent deficit? I just thought we'd at least be competitive and we seem to be getting blown out when we lose. Happy to beat Clemson always.

UAB is a good team.

No big time transfers.

This is a building project.

We will look pretty good at times this year and we will look really bad.

My opinion so take it for what its worth.... These guys have never played together before this year so chemistry is an issue. All of them are still learning Paris system so there's that. Truthfully, the guys who transferred in are 10 to 12 pts a game scorers on a good night. You might have one of them go off and score 18 one night but that won't happen often. GG is very talented but young and raw. With two years college coaching and some strength and conditioning he would be an absolute beast but don't look for him to stick around that long. I think this year is a wash. Towards the end of the year we might gel and pull some upsets but the competition will be tougher so we may play well but not get the win. I think the coaching is good but we need to build up talent.

We have GG Jackson and a bunch of spare parts. I think next year after Paris gets a full year to recruit is when you can start judging where the program is going.

As much as I liked Frank Martin, it sure does look like he encouraged everyone in the program to either go with him to UMass or just otherwise leave Carolina. And then he spent the entire off season talking shit. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth as a fan of his and after its all said and done Im glad hes gone.

I like Gray and Brown allot…….have some good freshmen. It will take time but no expectations make them enjoyable to watch. I keep saying I won’t be sad if we lose, but it bothers me a little. They deserve support and my only gripe is I wish they would attack the hoop with confidence, Don’t like our offense right now but maybe there is a reason.

We’re bad. GG is a star in the making but he’s a freshman and sometimes makes freshman mistakes. We should be better than we are. We have enough talent to beat UAB, George Washington and Furman. That talent is not getting maximized.

Does not matter. This is the Lamont Paris honeymoon phase. If he doesn’t win a game he’s coming back for 2-3 more seasons. I would at least like to see this team improve as the season goes along. As much as people here love to bash Frank, the team did improve throughout the course of the season.

I say give the coach some time. He’s like ol Mother Hubbard. When he got here, the cupboard was bare. Might take a while to replenish it.

The is made up of a bunch of spare parts who look like they aren't coached. No fundamentals & looks like we run no offensive plays most of the time. We play backyard ball.

Really? So what happened in February and March of the last five years. I call that reaching a peak and falling off way too early. Further, the current team is far too loose with the ball to have a guaranteed win against anyone. GG is our primary scorer. However, most probably due to his youth, he turns the ball over almost four times for every assist. Hayden Brown turns it over twice for every assist. Chico turns the ball over equal to every assist he gets. Jacobi has proven to be our strongest guy with the ball and he is not great, barely 2 assists for every turnover.

Well you can complain about the collapses in February and March or we can just get our butts handed to us by George Washington, UAB, ECU and Furman before Christmas and just know we don’t have a chance. Maybe it gets better but I don’t see it. It’s year one. We have no choice but to meander through this and see.

I think James Madison, Dolly Madison and 3 of their colonial friends could beat this group too.
