Since joining the Bulldogs back after the conclusion of the 2013 season, Pruitt has crafted incredibly effective defenses. Jumping from No. 45 overall to hovering among the top 10 to 15 certainly bodes well for Pruitt, who is among the most popular potential candidates.
Georgia finished the 2015 regular season with a 9-3 record, the same as Michigan, and turned in the No. 8-ranked total defense. Michigan boasted the No. 1-ranked total defense during the middle of the season and finished with the No. 4-ranked unit.
In 2014, Georgia finished the year with the No. 17-ranked total defense. In 2013, the season prior to Pruitt’s arrival in Athens, the Bulldogs finished with the No. 45-ranked total defense.
