Four-star RB Mike Davis had previously indicated to the Gamecock coaches fairly shortly after his decommitment from Florida that he would be heading to Columbia. He decided to go ahead and make things official tonight. I think you all see now why I've been saying the Gamecocks have been in good position for him as Davis committed even before wrapping up his official.
He will not be taking his planned trips to Georgia and Clemson, which were to follow after this weekend's official to USC taking place now.
Davis is being hosted this weekend on his official by former Stephenson teammate Kadetrix Marcus.
It's a big pickup for the Gamecocks. Lorenzo Ward continues doing work in the Peach State in the 2012 cycle. Davis is a talented back who moved up in the previous rankings update and impressed everyone during U.S. Army All-American Bowl week in San Antonio earlier this month. He's a tough runner who has really good vision and cutback ability. He's a good one.
