South Carolina officially hired and approved contracts of four football staffers (three assistants, one strength coach) Friday with Marcus Satterfield, Clayton White and Torrian Gray getting contracts approved with Luke Day getting his contract approved as well.

Details of those contracts are here. All four of the new coaches, based off the documents provided by the South Carolina board of trustees, have signed their contracts which means all buyout numbers are accurate.

Des Kitchings and Mike Peterson also got pay bumps, going from making $300,000 annually apiece to now making $420,000.

Here are some additional details on the contracts for the newly-approved contracts.

Buyouts (if school terminates without cause)

All four coaches have the same language in their contracts in terms of voiding contracts without cause. If the coaches are fired before the end of the deal without cause, South Carolina would be responsible for 75 percent of the remaining total annual compensation. There is a mitigation clause, which would decrease the amount South Carolina would have to pay if the other coach got another job. For instance, if South Carolina owed Marcus Satterfield $900,000 (for easy math) and Satterfield got a job getting paid $450,000 then South Carolina would owe him just $450,000.

There is language in all of the contracts where coaches have agreed to "act in good faith to mitigate the total amount of liquidated damages to which he is entitled and to make reasonable and diligent efforts to obtain other comparable employment as soon as reasonably possible after termination of the Employment Agreement."

That language just means coaches will have to try and find another job if they are fired and can't just sit back and collect checks from South Carolina. Buyouts would be paid in monthly installments unless both parties agree to do pay in one lump sum.

Buyouts (if coaches terminate the contract, same for each coach)
If terminated before the end of 2021: $300,000
If terminated before the end of 2022: $200,000
If terminated before the end of 2023 (White and Gray): $100,000

Incentives (same for all four newly-approved contracts)
SEC championship game appearance: $25,000 or SEC championship game win: $50,000
Non-CFP bowl appearance (minus Citrus Bowl): $20,000
Citrus Bowl appearance: $25,000
New Year's Six bowl appearance: $30,000
CFP Semifinal appearance: $40,000
CFP championship game appearance: $50,000
Championship game win: $65,000

With Mike Bobo ($1.2 million annually), Will Friend ($700,000) and Tracy Rocker ($525,000) leaving, that's a combined $2,425,000 South Carolina does not have to pay.

With the approvals and raises, the Gamecocks are paying $7,250,000 this year for coaches (including Beamer). Taking out Beamer's $2.75 million annual salary, the assistants (including Luke Day) right now are due a combined $4,500,000. That will obviously go up hiring a new offensive line and defensive line coach.
