I'm proud of them as well. Didn't like the way the game ended or the free throws, but again, they wore the opponent down and came back.

They'll be better next season. This isn't a flash in the pan.

They won like what? 90 % of their games. I just wish our other teams won 90% of the games they played.

Lol! UConn's coach finds a bunch of faults with his team, so we can be that way too. And we should if we want to be the ones to knock them off their throne. We won 90% of our games. NO GOOD! To be the best you have to be a perfectionist. That is his how Geno has done.

You are on a message board too posting aren't you? So why should anyone listen to what you say as opposed to a great a coach like Geno Auriemma? He says he judges his players not by wins loses or accolades but by how well his players are living up to their potential, and our Gamecock WBB players have a lot more potential than they have shown despite being SEC champs and a Final Four team. They have the potential to beat a team like UConn if they only could tap into it more.

I guess you are somoeone that can't wrap his head around what it is to truly be great. Our goal was National Championship this year. That is what they were shooting for not Final Four. Our players are disappointed with the season, and that is good because they know they had what it takes to finish even stronger. And they are going to remember this disappointment and it's going to fuel them going to forward.

Dawn has had continuous progress each year. They even had a graphic on our progress before the game. This was our first Final 4. Even the greats had more upsets than wins...another storyline before the game.

If you take a step back and look at the whole body of work, you can't deny that we are on a successful path. The trophies will come in time.

But it seems the rule on this board is if you don't complain then you are accepting mediocrity. What a joke.

So why is it hard for a certain group to be satisfied with the season we had?

I think, as a fan base, we handled the loss pretty well. Sure, there was some Monday morning quarterbacking. But that's what message boards are for, isn't it? I didn't see anyone remotely suggesting Coach Staley needs to go, or that the officials cost us the game, or that Notre Dame's players are a bunch of thugs, etc.

We took a step this year. You don't become UConn overnight.

You don't take any steps if you don't change your attitude toward losing. You have to first develop a deep hatred of losing. I think the girls on this team have that. I KNOW our coach does. Too bad our fans don't.
