There’s been a lot of talk on Twitter tonight about Arkansas TE Coach Dowell Loggains
It all started with this tweet from an Arky beat reporter with Saturday Down South.
Of course it gets ramped up a bit with former Gamecock QB and staff member Connor Shaw talking a bit about it too.
Here’s the facts we have:
Loggains was visiting a recruit today in Oklahoma:
-We’ve gotten several sources who I would consider “near the top of the totem pole” on knowing this information saying it’s news to them if this is true.
- We’ve emphasized throughout this process that Beamer has done an excellent job keeping this all close to the vest. I can’t rule out Loggains at this point. We did include him on our most recent hotboard.
Here’s the bottom line: It wouldn’t surprise me if Loggains had an interview for the job, there’s a reason we mentioned him yesterday. I think there are a lot of reasons he makes sense for the position which we laid out:
- He has playcalling experience over a decade in the NFL
- he’s been learning a robust college system under Kendal Briles at Arkansas that features my favorite scheme: Power Spread
