From another site: Not long after Rattler made the leap to the transfer portal, a report from Matt Miller emerged with two potential destinations for the former five-star quarterback, and both should come as a surprise.
“Lot of people are going to expect he lands in USC, but… I think SMU and South Carolina are more likely and better options for him,” Miller said. Thoughts?

Hard pass. He is a head case

The key words in all of these articles relating to Beamer and Rattler are, "I THINK..."

You could do the same thing.

With Lashlee (former OC for Miami) just taking the job at SMU, with his style of offense, that would seem the most likely landing spot.
But then again, with all the crazy events the last 72 hours I doubt anything is going to surprise me at this point.

I don't know why he would want to come play behind our OL, but every list of potential landing spots that I have seen has mentioned as a good possibility.

Might not be worth the headache but he is much much better than anything we have on the roster at Qb.

Did you ever stop to think the OC had to coach a terrible offensive line, and qb's that are below the P5 level. No offensive coordinator in the world could have made our talent deficient offense look good.
There’s talent on our offensive line they just haven’t been coached right. I agree with you wholeheartedly about our quarterbacks, but they had there backs against the wall all season cause of bad play calls.

There's a hundred different ways to look at it. A bad OL can make a good QB look bad. On the other hand, a good QB can make a bad OL look better. A good OL can make a bad QB look better. A bad QB can make a good OL look bad. Who knows? Reality is, we probably had both a below average OL and below average QBs this past season.

Our offensive line moves too slow and isn't strong enough. Defensive linemen ran through them, and around them nearly every game. It happened last year and again this year.

Somehow that OL last year looked at least competent. Also, predictably calling 2 runs and a pass on 3rd and long isn't the players' fault but the playcaller.

We don't have the talent to tell a former 5 star guy we're not interested. Obviously it may not work, but he's got a ton of potential as well. Much higher ceiling than anyone else on the roster. This would be a huge get.

Career 70% completion (was actually hitting at 75% this year). 40 TDs to 12 INT. He's unquestionably an upgrade over any of our existing QBs. Not really any debate about that. If he's a bit mental, so what?

When we tried to pass the qb's were under pressure a countless number of times. We probably suffered more sacks, and more tackles for loss than any other team in the SEC except Vandy.

No doubt about it he is worth a try. The upside for us is much greater than the downside. If he becomes a problem, then he can go his own way.

This... saw videos of him in high school and he was demeaning his teammates in front of everyone. Telling them how bad they were and he carried the team himself... no thank you. His teammate said why are you acting like this, you should be picking us up... we know we aren't as good as you... he just laughed and walked away...

Nobody is more in need of a ready to play quarterback than we are. If he displays a bad attitude after he arrives there will be room for him on the bench to watch the games.

If he wants to play for Beamer, he'd better stay in Norman. :D

Yeah, I saw the video. Didn't seem like a big deal at all. For one thing, players can get heated in practice. Tom Brady chews receivers out on a routine basis. It is what it is. No, I'm not saying Rattler is Brady, so no need to go down that rabbit trail. Besides, when you watch the video, he and his receiver are going back and forth. Both are laughing at points in the exchange. Other teammates are laughing while the Rattler and his receiver carried on. Coaches weren't intervening to shut anything down.

Do you really think Beamer is leaving? Not a huge loss for us if he does. I am sure Ray has already compiled a solid list of prospective coaches if you are right.

ESPN says he's a "prime" candidate. They haven't said that about anybody else. Don't they get it right every time?

ESPN always has an opinion, it's what they do. What is their track record on the coaching carousel so far? I did not hear them say Brian Kelly was going to LSU. Did they predict Riley was going to So Cal?
I never said they are always prescient,. When they aren't, they keep silent. But when they express themselves, people always consider them to be in the know. In this case, they have anointed Shane. He's good as gone. Don't you feel it happening? Surely you must.🧐
