Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler

What was your opinion of Garcia? He was a head case but we did beat Alabama. Was a head case worth it in his case? I don’t have an answer for that because one of our other QBs may have beaten Alabama also. Just a consideration.

I never said they are always prescient,. When they aren't, they keep silent. But when they express themselves, people always consider them to be in the know. In this case, they have anointed Shane. He's good as gone. Don't you feel it happening? Surely you must.🧐
C'mon King, let him go.

From another site: Not long after Rattler made the leap to the transfer portal, a report from Matt Miller emerged with two potential destinations for the former five-star quarterback, and both should come as a surprise.
“Lot of people are going to expect he lands in USC, but… I think SMU and South Carolina are more likely and better options for him,” Miller said. Thoughts?

If they're expecting USC or South Carolina to be the landing spot, then we're 2/3 to win. I'm still a huge Luke Doty fan and think he could be great with a decent OC.

Of the schools mentioned, we seem to make the most sense at this moment.

Rattler is from Arizona, but Arizona makes us look like a well-oiled machine. They were 1-11 last year. Also, if he’s looking for exposure, that’s not the best place.

Ole Miss is mentioned, but they are likely picking up the QB from UCF who was coached by Lebby when he was at UCF.

Arizona State is out there, but they have Jayden Daniels and it’s not clear if he will stay or declare for the draft (currently projected by most as a 5th rounder). If the former, it’s not likely that Rattler would go there where they have an incumbent starter.

Do you get accused every day of being a tater?
People can believe what they want, it’s no sweat off my back. I know where my money and loyalty goes. I just don’t want a cancer that in some cases, can really be bad for the locker room. I have watched video on mr. Rattler. That’s all I need to know. He has the capability of being one of those cancers. I guess if you don’t agree with the masses you are a tater.

What video?

What video?
Videos from when he played 7 on 7. It just confirms what most have been saying. He screams and yells at his team mates when they mess up but when he messes up it’s oh well. Just don’t like the round mans attitude.

The movie draft day comes to mind. He is bo Callahan I’m that move .

Oh, the one where he and a WR teammate were giving each other a hard time and laughing?
We can have different opinions it’s ok. I think he’s a cancer, you want to take a chance, I don’t. We can agree to disagree and still support the team we pull for.

You act like I’m the only one who believes he’s a cancer. Do a quick search of his name and you will see many people have the same opinion I do. The kid is a big douche in my opinion.

Yep, there demeanor says it’s a joke alright. No way.
Yeah, I’ve seen that. As said above, it looks like high school kids being high school kids. They’re both jawing at each other. At one point they are both laughing. Other teammates are laughing. It just hardly seems like a big deal.

Nevertheless, that video is from 2018. Is there a chance he’s matured since then?

I wouldn't mind if he came aboard. *If* he were to, it would of course be because Beamer has evaluated him and the situation, and feels like; either SR has indeed matured, and/or he can be coached such that he is a net positive on the team/locker room/field.

Plus, if you watch the video to the end, it’s made clear that these two jawing with each other was a pretty common occurrence. Receiver says “when me and spencer argue we just go up and up and up” and then Spencer says “and then we just go back to normal.”

Again it’s more than just that vid for me. I follow college football like it’s my job. Multiple people say he’s a case. I’m not the only one saying he’s a headcase so I’m not sure why you single me out. I have my opinion you have yours. I don’t think he’s good for USC

Looks like bad character.

However, with that said Beamer was obviously VERY close to him, and if he needed to know if SR woke up to adulthood this season, he has the guys number to call and ask him. So I'll just wait and see what beamer decides. If he isn't interested, then I'll take it that the cancer wasnt worth bringing in.

Hard pass. He is a head case
^^^^^This…..I know people close to the OU program and supposedly a locker room cancer. Just saying what I was told. Not bashing the kid. You can gain a little insight into his personality if you watch the Netflix series QB one. He was on that his senior year in high school.

Alls you have to do is watch QB1 on Netflix. He was on there an entire season when he was a senior in high school. You can see for yourself his personality. I wasn’t a fan. But if he can come here and help us win fine by me. Being cocky and arrogant as one thing, and most good QBs need to be that way. But you sure can’t be that way in the locker room.

He was ultimately unsuccessful in Lincoln Riley's offense. Why would you expect he would be super successful at Carolina?
He’d still be an upgrade for us. He was hitting on 75% of his passes this year.

Maybe he’s got some attitude. Fine. This team could use a little of that. We need someone with some fire and cockiness.

Yep! Would be up to CSB to determine if it could be harnessed.

If Satt is the douche he's rumored to be, he and SR could get along swimmingly, or it could be a train-wreck!

That assumes he brings his coaches and fellow offensive players and plays against Big 12 defenses. He will not do any of that. He will run for his life behind a porous line throwing to a Carolina, not an Ok, receiving corps with, quite possibly, Satterfield calling plays.

Porous OL or not, we need someone to play QB next year. We can’t not pursue QBs just bc we have a bad OL. None of our QBs who played year are a difference maker. A good enough QB could offset some of the OL issues. We just didn’t have anyone good enough to do that. Is Rattler the answer? Don’t know. But he’s be an upgrade and we need to look for an answer somewhere.

I get that on paper he appears to be an upgrade. I just think you're comparing apples to oranges. And if you think he has attitude issues now (he does), wait until he's getting his brains bashed in playing in Satterfield's offense.

Yeah, I have no idea how he'd actually do here. Skill-wise, though, I think he's pretty obviously an upgrade over the QBs who played for us this season. I'm not proclaiming him a program-changer for us or anything like that. Just better than what we've got.

It isn't just this instance. You are on the other side practically every time.

Beamer's all over the portal. If there's a chance, he'll make it happen.

I’m sorry you feel that way I just don’t wear colored glasses at all. Doesn’t matter the color. But since 1996 a portion of my income has been going to USC and no one else. I know where my loyalty lies. I’m sorry you see it differently. But to be honest I don’t care if you think I’m a tater or not. I think it’s comical that you have to agree with the masses or get called a tater.

As much as I would like this to happen, he is an Arizona kid with no ties here. I think he goes to a school out west with a wide open non-Satterfield offense.
