2011 - In addition to the winning streak over Clemson in football, the basketball team came up with a 58-55 victory to make it two straight over the Tigers on the hardwood as well. The Gamecocks had to mount a comeback in this one, as they trailed Clemson 35-28 at the half. It was close early on, but then Clemson got on a roll and Andre Young's three pointer gave the Tigers a 25-18 lead. A three pointer by Tanner Smith pushed Clemson's lead to 35-25 just before the half but Bruce Ellington made a three with just under two seconds left in the half. USC chipped away at the lead in the second half and a basket by Damontre Harris tied the game at 47 and a layup from Anthony Gill gave Carolina the lead with just over three minutes left in the game. Clemson then tied the game at 49 but Gill struck again, this time making a three pointer for a 52-49 lead with 79 seconds remaining. Devin Booker hit two free throws to get within one but an Eric Smith jumper but USC back up by three and free throws by Ellington and Malik Cooke preserved the win for Carolina.
