Per this CNN article, the first Sunday of the year nowadays sees a huge surge in new memberships on a variety of dating apps, as people get over holiday breakups, make New Year's Resolutions and the like.

I just asked a younger colleague and sure enough, he said his friend had just signed up for one of these this past weekend.
Fascinating how things have changed since back in the day, and clearly, I'm seriously dating myself by thinking meeting online still seems a little different. It's obviously the new norm.
All that said, I could not be more thrilled to be done with dating and very happily all partnered up for the duration. It looks like it's still a jungle out there!
