OT: Where did you go to the beach as a kid?

Myrtle, Folly, and Daytona Beach. I miss the Florida of my youth (mid to late 70's). Less crowded, less developed, sleepy coastal towns.

Open date allows for some OT conversation... where did you grow up going to the beach? Many trips to Garden City as a kid. We would have a weeklong family gathering there for many years from the late 70's to early 90's. Many fond memories of Sam's Corner and the Garden City pier, pre-Hugo.

Circa 2000, we moved down the coast for vacations to Isle of Palms, and that has been great, but, but I have the fondest memories of Garden City.
