Honestly, are you shocked? We don't need to wait at the last Minute.

I guess not. But it sure is discouraging and Disappointing.Honestly, are you shocked?
It would be up to Beamer as to when to start the conversation but it would almost have some advanced notice as any multi-year contract has to be approved by the President and the BOT (as does the buyout of the existing OCs contract) and you don't hire a coordinator without a multi-year contract. If the plan is to get rid of Satt, my hopes are that conversations have been happening for several weeks behind the scenes. That is, if it's not someone already on the staff. It would very much be a Carolina thing to hire someone from within. That person being Kimrey.
There could be many valid and reasonable explanations for why they still have jobs here. Or it could be explained by one undeniable fact: WE ARE SOUTH CAROLINA.We don't need to wait at the last Minute.

I'm looking forward to see how you defend the raise Tanner ends up giving Beamer. It would be up to Beamer as to when to start the conversation but it would almost have some advanced notice as any multi-year contract has to be approved by the President and the BOT (as does the buyout of the existing OCs contract) and you don't hire a coordinator without a multi-year contract.
I just posted in another thread about us waiting to the last minute to do anything and the next topic I see is about waiting.I started laughing. We don't need to wait at the last Minute.

He will get a one year extension and, maybe, a reasonable raise. Anything more...it needs to be a matching offer.I'm looking forward to see how you defend the raise Tanner ends up giving Beamer.
Or Beamer does not have the stomach to fire his groomsman and, Adkins survives too because just letting him go makes him look like a scapegoat. My fear is that since there wasn't any announcement in the couple days after the Clemson game, it's not happening. They'll both get another year because of injuries or whatever.
Why the heck would Duce leave the NFL? Also, I am not sure he ever completed his degree....which would be a requirement to coach on the college level.Duce Staley as run game coordinator, cutcliffe as qb’s coach and passing game coordinator!
No but really I think you have to feel out the market before you let Satt go, you could put yourself in a really bad spot and go weeks in a critical recruiting period with no OC. If you let him go, you have to fill the spot fast. It’s crazy out there right now, and I’m sure it’s hard to find OC caliber coaches who are ready to jump right now.
That being said, as a university I think we can do better than Satt. He did have a couple good games in auburn and Florida, but the bad games were god awful.
I have not looked at the Florida game. But I did the Auburn game. Our total offensive yardage was LESS than the average yardage Auburn's defense had given up coming into that game.Duce Staley as run game coordinator, cutcliffe as qb’s coach and passing game coordinator!

It was a joke, calm down. We’ve rehashed this every time we talk about coaches. Why the heck would Duce leave the NFL? Also, I am not sure he ever completed his degree....which would be a requirement to coach on the college level.

Sincere apologies. I completely missed the sarcasm. And you are absolutely correct. It was a joke, calm down. We’ve rehashed this every time we talk about coaches.
OK. But I know you know that scoring 21 points was not exactly a power surge on the offensive side.He called a good game against auburn.
You guys have no idea what's going on right now. As a fanbase do we have any ability to have something play out before jumping to conclusions? You guys merely want to see blood on the streets when in actuality everything could be being done behind the scenes. I'll reserve judgment until the process is done.We don't need to wait at the last Minute.

Ultimately, this is the answer. The coaching carousel is also so crazy this year that it may actually be prudent to hold off until some of the bigger programs have built their staffs. Bobo getting stolen at the 11th hour last year is why we're in this mess in the first place. You guys have no idea what's going on right now. We are Currently Searching for an OC and OLine Coach with other Programs Currently Making Changes.
I just told you.
Definitely not, maybe it just felt good relative to how bad some of our performances are. I would say high points don’t necessarily equate to a well called game. We ran the ball well and controlled the clock, taking pressure off of our defense. Sometimes you know 21 points will be enough to win, and sometimes you’ll need 35. We had the right strategy.OK. But I know you know that scoring 21 points was not exactly a power surge on the offensive side.
Interestingly enough, Duce expressed interest a few years ago in coming back and having a role in the program, with the full knowledge he’d have to finish his degree. Why the heck would Duce leave the NFL? Didn't know that.Interestingly enough, Duce expressed interest a few years ago in coming back and having a role in the program, with the full knowledge he’d have to finish his degree.
Muschamp said no.
If rumors are right keeping Satterfield around during this critical recruiting period may be more hurtful.Duce Staley as run game coordinator, cutcliffe as qb’s coach and passing game coordinator!

Could implode. Hope not.If rumors are right keeping Satterfield around during this critical recruiting period may be more hurtful.
The OL coach has had success at multiple stops before. Satterfield has never had success at any stop.I could deal with retaining Satterfield and getting a new OL coach. Not saying it's ideal, but there could be a case made that the offense stood no chance this year with how bad the OL was. That said, Satterfield's overall track record as OC is not good.
At the least we have to replace OL coach. Bare minimum. Look, Auburn's HC ain't messin' around.
South Carolina has had one of the worst offenses in college football for three years in a row now. On the one hand you could simply say this was the most likely outcome and give your offensive coaches a pass this year. On the other hand, you could easily say a major overhaul is required just based on the performance and general confusion this year alone.Definitely not, maybe it just felt good relative to how bad some of our performances are. I’m by no means a satterfield apologist and I want to move on, I just think some of those good moments will be enough to give Beamer pause before sending satterfield immediately packing with no replacement ready, but it won’t stop him from searching for a replacement behind the scenes. If he finds someone better he should make the switch.
I think we know the ceiling is low with satt, but the best you can do is keep working to find a better replacement behind the scenes.South Carolina has had one of the worst offenses in college football for three years in a row now. The problem for Shane is that Satterfield doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. He’s never really put a very productive offense on the field as a OC or head coach. He’s not some sort of desired OC with an established track record. If his instincts are to give him another year he is firmly swimming upstream. And while the defense hasn’t been in quite the same death spiral as the offense over the last few seasons, all he has to do is look at what Clayton White did with a unit that was horrendous last season to see that quality coach can find some ways to be successful even with stuck with some significant limitations.
That would be another hiring fail by Beamer. Don't get me wrong. I think Kimrey has one of the best offensive football minds around, but right now a rookie HC needs some experience on his staff - experience meaning someone who has been a successful, productive, innovative OC.If the plan is to get rid of Satt, my hopes are that conversations have been happening for several weeks behind the scenes. That is, if it's not someone already on the staff. It would very much be a Carolina thing to hire someone from within. That person being Kimrey.
Totally agree. We need to go out and get a proven (even at a lower level) OC. If he's successful and moves on in a few years, then Kimrey possibly comes into play, having learned from him for a few years. That would be another hiring fail by Beamer. Don't get me wrong. I think Kimrey has one of the best offensive football minds around, but right now a rookie HC needs some experience on his staff - experience meaning someone who has been a successful, productive, innovative OC.
