Potential candidates for Florida Gators head coach

That Fickle guy sounds exactly like who we needed as Head Coach back in 2016 instead of Muschamp. Imagine if Carolina was sitting where Cincinnati is right now! But, we gave a second chance to a fired Florida coach instead. And gave him a buyout that left he University seemingly unable to afford to pay the next guy much.
Their A/D knows how to hire. Firing Tanner and snagging him(or her) up wouldn’t be a bad idea.

We are definitely not the type of program Fickell would leave the chance of a B1G HC opportunity for....not even close.

Mullen isn't going anywhere this year. Now will he be on a very warm seat next year? Absolutely

He won't come to Carolina. Ohio is one of the most fertile football recruiting states along with Texas, California, and Georgia. He's an Ohio guy who has coached his entire career in the state.

Fickell will be in the B1G soon....which is exactly where he wants to be.

Florida fans were so desperate for offense that they took a flyer on Mullen. And he brought the offense. But consistent success in the SEC predicated on recruiting and defense (see Kirby Smart). The Gators lost some 'exciting games' to Bama and LSU. Losing sucks. Doesn't matter how many points your teams scored.

Now it looks like the Gator players have quit on Mullen.

Florida just needs a new DC and to get healthy. They will be back next year.

I just hope they don't come for Clayton White.

Doubt they would come after one of our coaches right now. Florida is a blue blood and think they can hire whoever they want. They will over pay for a coach like Venables (not saying him in particular) but someone with that type of pedigree. If they move on from Mullins I think they try for Kiffin. Doubt you see names like Chadwell Napier or any of the G5 coaches getting much of a look from the mighty gators lol.

Freeze, Kiffin, eventually shoveled over the fence from JAX Meyer, or heck why not his name is always fun to throw around Gruden......but really any offensive wizard who's sometimes douchy that draws the ire of opposing fanbases works well with the Florida backyard speed and athleticism 🤣🐊🤠🇺🇲

Stoops ain't going anywhere! He wanted the UK job so he could be closer to his Mom in Youngstown, OH. Ohio State comes callin', maybe.....but not Fla.
Nope, ain't going no where. He's done well up there & am told by family up there, fans really like what He's accomplished.

Stoops has a super sweet gig. Gets paid $5 million/yr to coach football at a school that doesn’t truly care about football. As long as they don’t completely suck, most folks will be happy. They don’t expect to compete for the East, just middle or so is good enough. Why would you leave that?

Man, money talks to everyone. Just sayin'.
Sad, but true. One would think that at the highly professional level, coaches would be interested in the challenge of a certain program, or their tradition, and not simply a pursuit of money. They get paid so much that it would seem to be a non-factor.

Unless Kirby totally collapses Muschamp will be in Athens. #1 That’s where he always truly wanted to be #2 He is not getting another HC gig anywhere except maybe HS.
Or maybe an HC gig in D-II, D-III, or the NAIA.

Bottom line is that some people are a great #2/right hand man to the HC, and make a lousy HC. No problem with that. The important thing is to know your strengths and weaknesses, and play to it. And for the sake of the Muschamp family, hopefully that's what Will will do going forward (Will will; I love it. 😁).

I doubt Florida even knows Caldwells number. ZERO chance he replaces Mullen.
Still it's interesting LSU and Florida are so committed to winning. Must be nice.
For programs so "commited to winning" rhey really seem to have undeperformed this year.
