Del Wilkes Sophomore year against Georgia. He said he got whooped every play of the game against a juiced up DL. He knew he would have to get on the Gass to compete after that game. Who was the DL he Faced?

I think he graduated after Del but I’m gonna throw out Bill Goldberg

Wilkes was a senior in '84 as I recall, making him a soph in '82 (the Richard Bell season). Everyone beat up on us in '82, including Furman. Here's a link to the 1982 Bulldogs roster:

I think Wilkes redshirted one year and for some reason I think it was somewhere in the middle of his career (not his freshman year) so if that was the case, his sophomore year would have been in 81. I'm going from memory on this so I'm not sure. Two of UGA's studs in 1982 was Jimmy Payne and Freddie Gilbert. In 1981, they had a Nose Guard named Eddie "Meat Cleaver" Weaver who was probably their best DL.
