A few notes here on the Gamecocks' two remaining targets...

After USC got the final in-home on Saturday, four-star DT Rick Sandidge has been expected to bring the process to a close by informing the staffs at UGA and USC of his choice in advance of announcing that decision on Wednesday afternoon.

During that Saturday visit, USC once again laid out exactly where Sandidge fit in on the depth chart and the opportunity he would have to contribute in year one. Will Muschamp was also able to accurately state his case for having made Sandidge a big priority for the past two years, having been very personally involved in the recruitment.

Sandidge had just one question, a rather telling one, after USC's pitch. Why did South Carolina's approach to the recruitment and fit seem almost too good to be true? Again, it went back to how Sandidge has been a priority for the staff for some time now, and the job that's been done recruiting him.

With an announcement now a little over 48 hours away, there are some reasons to continue feeling good about USC's chances.

As for Georgia DL John Mincey, we still have not heard more definitive word on his intentions.

We do know this - the USC official visit was one he enjoyed a lot, and his cancellation of the final weekend official to Ole Miss was potentially telling. Folks familiar with Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Tennessee all feel like USC has been in pole position.

Yet Mincey has been fairly quiet and we are unsure of him having handed down a final choice yet. We are going to continue checking up until Wednesday.
