Rick Pitino...

I'd hire him in a minute. This program needs to make something happen. Needs a jolt. Could there be a downside? Sure. Every program takes that chance. He would recruit. But no. We will hire some smiley face like Ben Richey from Furman who will be fine, say the right things, but it would be as watered down a program as it has been for the most part of the last 40 years.

He’s done with big programs, he even said that yesterday. He’s totally happy where he’s at and plans on staying there.

It's more like Pitino knows that big programs are done with him. Iona acted completely on faith. The NCAA hasn't even come down with the punishment for Pitino over the FBI investigation.

But, trust me. If a big program came calling. RP would be all over it.

And, he said he wants to end his career where it all started, in New York.

Most UK fans learned early during his tenure in Lexington that Pitino had a "tell" to indicate when he was lying...

If he moved his lips when he spoke...he was lying.

Not on the table. Mike McGee tried to get him years ago. Then tried to get Tubby. Then tried to get Calhoun. Etc. Etc. Then hired Dave Odom.
No matter what we do, it won't be worse than the Darrin Horn search.

Compared to Steve Newton, the Darrin Horn hire was a home run.

Decent X’s & O’s coach for sure, but hasn’t been same since his BIL died in NY in 911. Turned (further) to the dark side, and now is a vampiric shell that sux the life and Light out of any program he leads.

but then again what harm could a vampire do to USC’s program right now

That REALLY isn't the kind of thing you want to be asking. Along with the glibly made statement, "It's not like things could get worse."
