If anyone was wondering how he did at getting the team conditioned, we outscored our opponents 80 to 43 in the 4th quarter. We haven't been that well conditioned since I think 2011. Coach Fotz parlayed his 2011 job into a payday in the NFL. We didn't outplay many but we definitely out lasted a few. If this man wants a raise I say he deserves it.

That’s a great observation. I would likely argue it’s a combination of strength and conditioning and in game coaching adjustments. I think the bigger nod to Coach Day was the lack of season ending injuries this season.
The reason I say that is the 4th quarter statistic can be a little misleading. In the games we were getting our teeth kicked in, we played better in the 4th quarter. Georgia, Tennessee and A & M had their 3rd stringers in by then. But we did play well in some 4th quarters when it mattered as well!

My friends and I have been talking about how well conditioned we were this past season, compared to recent past. We didn't look winded, less injuries, able to play until the final whistle. I don't think enough can be said about CLD.

I remember when Kevin Harris came in as a freshman. His body looked chiseled like a statue. Who was his S&C coach in high school?
This was the first year in at least three or more that we were not plagued by so many of our starters being injured and on the sidelines in their street clothes as we played the last few games. How were we supposed to beat the opponents on the latter part of our schedule when we will starting our backups? We did NOT have that problem this year. No wonder we went to a bowl and won it.
Especially considering the lack of quality depth. Lots of guys had to play more than they normally would have had to play.
This is a great point to make and unfortunately tends to fly under the radar, BIG improvement this year.
