A defense that was pieced together with virtually unproven talent at DB...I just don't see anyway he goes in the first round...I would not trade him for Joyner..

Why have we not played Joyner more? Can't wait for Joyner and Rattler to back up each other next season....Go Cocks!!!!

I just keep thinking if what if we had this gameplan going in with Rattler at QB. Now I'm beyond ecstatic for joyner but games he played QB he didn't really have the defenses prepping for him. I think Joyner needs more time playing QB going into next year because he just makes things happen. His mobility really helped with the run game today and would be a great weapon so assist Rattler with if we get into a game where we become 1 dimensional and can't run. Next year Joyner and Bell need plently of touches because they make things happen with the ball in their hands. Hopefully we got some WRs ready to go next year that want to make a name for themself.

Sam imo has never been first round material and talking heads just keep getting it wrong.

As far as DK playing next year….ain’t going to happen with a healthy Rattler. Rattler has all the skills.

DK in the Wildcat here and there, maybe.

I asked this in the game thread: Is Dak definitely returning next year? I haven't seen anything about it one way or the other.

No, he hasn't.

A player's Draft position is: 1) Part field performance; 1) Part Combine numbers; 2) Part relationship with the team's front office. If you doubt the assertion, just look at Mitch Trubiski's draft position after starting only 13 games at UNC. And, he isn't the only one. Others have been drafter in high positions, and some dropped to lower positions for reasons that are not clear at all. Revert back to some combination of 1, 2, 3.

Well you may be in the minority on that opinion....It's even being said on the UNC board that he should not have played...He absolutely had nothing to gain...so where do you think he will go in teh draft...I'm guessing the 3rd round...

Joyner never showed that much passing before, they probably got him up to scratch with all of the extra reps in bowl prep.

Edit: Joyner not Rattler

Not a lot of good QBs coming out this year. Pitts QB will probably be the first taken and he's not near the top of the first round. Howell was considered a borderline 1st rounder, but looks to be more of a mid 2nd round type pick.

It’s highly unlikely he drops out of the second round. I still wouldn’t be shocked to see him go late first round possibly to someone who trades back in to get him. It’s not a strong QB draft and he’s always put up numbers while keeping turnovers down. The UNC defense has let them down a lot but if he goes pro he’ll be picked second round at the latest probably after the Corral and the guy from Pitt.

Well then show up!! I did my damned part.

I don't usually criticize those who don't go because they may have a good reason for not doing so.....UNLESS they start criticizing those who

You do you. I live in Charlotte and I didn't go because I dont like either school. Don't get insecure.

Howell is a quality QB I saw nothing to indicate UNC getting consistently beaten up front on both sides of the ball is in any way on him. They had no running game to lean on either. Credit USC

I actually felt bad for him. He did the right thing by his university, coaches and teammates and played....and it bit him pretty good. Glad it happened because we (and I personally) needed that win over UNc. But/ it does suck for his pocketbook

I think he’ll be just fine. It’s one game. He’s had three years of games where he threw for over 10,000 yards and 91 TDS (to just 23 ints). He’s a 1-2 rounder unless he completely craps the bed on pro day or the combine.

Definitely a perplexing decision by Howell to play, though I also think it's great he wanted one more go with his teammates. Unfortunate outcome for him for sure.
Yep, just killed me to see him sacked four times and have a subpar game. JK he’s a tough kid, has all the skills to play QB, and indicated unselfishness today by putting his team and coaches above himself. Hell, we might have forced him to return to UNC after today!

Sam is a solid college QB. But I have never thought he was a first round pick. Which seems to be the narrative. But then again, I didn't think Phillip Rivers would amount to anything either🤷‍♂️

I don’t think he carries a pocketbook! But the beating he took was bad for his wallet! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm sorry for not going but my wife and I both testes positive for Covid-19 Tuesday morning.
No problem. Fans often have very good reasons for not going....I don't question that at all as I've been there. Just don't like someone who didn't go criticizing those who did. Sorry you had to miss it Freddie, you would have had a blast.

He should've chosen well from the get go...UNC? go figure...

Imagine what he could've done with us, UK, UT, UF or even FSU/Clemson?

Just crazy...Mack Brown reminds me of Biden on the sideline...void of any kind of emotion...just blank...

If memory serves, Howell did have an impressive offer list. I wanted him to be a Gamecock. Mack has looked lost on the sideline this season. Makes you wonder how he’s able to recruit as well as he has.
