Guarantee nobody would have put money on us being the first SEC team to win its bowl game this year.
How many times has the SEC been dominant during bowl season with an egg-laying by the Gamecocks as a notable exception? It feels great, for once, for the Gamecocks to be the ones shouldering the load for the conference.
That would be kinda silly given no one else has won.
But when the conference dominates, have you never heard the chants in various stadiums? I call bs if you havent.
If UNC ends up being the only team to lose to an SEC team this bowl season and it makes them feel even worse about the loss, I'm good with that.
As of tonight, it could still happen. As of tonight, the Big 10 is staking a strong claim as the best football conference overall. Better coaching continuity is what's behind it. Only an SEC team winning the national championship would save some face. It's by no means assured.
Kinda puts Michigan in a new light doesnt it.
SIAP elsewhere but the SEC and ACC each only have 1 win, USC and Clemson. Also Coastal and SC State win their games. So the state of SC is undefeated in bowl season.
Maybe we need to see if we can put together a new conference.
