possibly playing DB according to David Cloninger's tweet. I'm not posting a link. You can search.

Let’s pick the smallest guy on the team and that’s our DB? (Sarcasm)

They want to have an option to bump Fenton to safety. Why don’t we cross train, just in case, Joyner at safety and leave Fenton at corner (he doesn’t need any confusion).

I don't really see a reason to move him. UF has a bad offense and a good defense. One could reason he would be more useful on offense. We aren't beating clemson either way and we aren't losing to Chattanooga or Akron either way.

Shi Smith played corner in high school. They're talking about him playing there in an emergency situation, not a permanent position change.

Thank you Captain Obvious, I’m just saying I wouldn’t think he’d be a go to person to switch positions in an emergency situation as he is one of our most productive offensive players

Do y'all remember Dondrial Pinkins being moved from QB to safety? I seem to recall he was OK there. But back then you could just earhole WR's.

Your original post suggested that Joyner be trained at Safety, which is a position he's never played. You suggested getting Joyner ready to play a new position, on the other side of the ball, in less than a week, which ain't going to happen.

Smith played his entire high school career at CB, so he's the best choice to fill the spot in a emergency situation.

But I wasn’t saying Shi would be there permanently. Long term I think a switch could be made for Joyner or he will transfer.

Our other DB's are not out permanently. Our coaches are looking for an immediate fix for this week. I'm not arguing that Joyner wouldn't be a great Safety, but he won't help us at the position this week. I think the kid is athletic enough to play any skill position on the field, but he was 40-3 as a starting HS QB so I'd like to get a good look at him with the ball in his hands before moving him to another position.
