So are we keeping Satterfield ?

Wanting is one thing. Getting is another. What "big time" OC is getting away from the richer schools and coming here?

Big time OC doesn’t mean buying a big programs guy but having one that’s actually good and known nationally as an OC. Kind of like how Longo or Lebby are known OC that most would considered great to have. If we can buy one great, but either way just want an OC that we aren’t constantly making excuses for or shifting the blame to the players.

Not a chance we get either of those.

Because of WM it feels like this is year 25 of inept offense and wishing we’d get a big time OC.

Agreed. As has been said though, big time OC's aren't apt to come work for a rookie(ish) coach.

Everyone wants to compare him to Dabo, then do what he did. Find an actually successful OC from a smaller school/division.

They had a projected first round NFL Draft QB for 5 games. We didn't have that for one game. And they still only ended up 103 vs 116. Hardly a case study for how our staff didn't succeed. lol
Never said they were world beaters just that they still ended up higher ranked using a zero star QB for part of the season.

I’m 100% fine with that and don’t believe USC getting a big time OC means we have to go hire some other P5’s OC. I’m just wanting to get an OC that is seen as elite while coaching at USC vs the anchors we’ve had.

LOL. You just left out that it was just barely better and that they used a QB that is a first round NFL draft projection the other part of that year. And that that other QB has been on the team for 4 years and had TWICE as many FBS starts than ALL OUR QBs COMBINED.

Like I said, the details matter. Not just talking points and feelings.

Dude you need to work on your reading comprehension. I never said we’d go after it get them. But USC can do better than what we gave.

No, you need to work on YOUR reading comprehension. I asked who we could get, and you named 2 good OCs that we have ZERO chance of getting and you know that but you think would be great to have.

And I explained a big time OC at USC doesn’t mean we hired him as such but that he is known as a big name because of how good we are on O the way those OC’s are known. Basically everything we haven’t had over the last 5+ years. Try actually reading what other posts say vs writing constant ignorant posts.

I did read it, and it was stupid, just like this rambling mess. You want that unknown elite OC that turns our program into a great offense overnight, despite a train wreck at the QB position.

Well, no shit. That is what EVERY team is looking for.

After enough instances, you start to think it's intentional, don't you?

Well, in all fairness, it was a huge steaming pile of stupid.

I have not read thus while thread, but I have read many like it. Anyway, Sats most interesting comment today was about telling Rattler people think "you and I stink."

Trying to build a little "us against the world motivation.

Again never said how much better just that a team with a zero start QB managed to put up better numbers. While you’re looking for more details we had two common opponents as BC with their zero star QB. Which team fared better?

Like I said, their zero star was FAR better than our two FCS QBs. That's why he wasn't an FCS leftover noob and had started twice as many FBS games as ALL the QBs on the roster combined.

And they were only BARELY better offensively than us. With that QB for 7 games and an NFL projected first rounder for the other 5.

I'd take Matt Applebaum from BC's staff in a skinny minute. Looks to be a very talented young coach.

Our QB situation this year reminded me of a Chris Rock skit.

"If you call your grandma mama and yo mama Pam, you're going to jail."

"If your QBs name is Zebuliah or came from a FCS Catholic school, you're gonna lose a lot of SEC games"

Yep. Feel like someone can’t be this obtuse.

Sorry, this is a rambling, incoherent mess.

Clearly we aren’t if we are keeping Satt. It isn’t the QB holding him back. Don’t get your fanboy love for him but it’s pretty obvious you won’t let reason or facts influence your love.

Three weeks before the start of the season, we got a brand new QB that was a Grad Assistant named Zebuliah.

And you are telling me that the QB wasn't holding him back.

LOL. I think it's your hate that won't let you see the facts.

I mean this truly, with complete sincerity. I really hope this is an act you put on for the board.

No, I tell the honest truth to everyone.

And while we are being sincere, stop acting like you are a Gamecock fan. You aren't. And you aren't fooling anybody.

Year long ineptitude can’t be blamed on one kid or position group.

We won 6 games and became bowl eligible when NOBODY thought that was possible.

Now we have the missing talent at QB that was sorely needed. Things are looking up. Not sure why your vag is sandy.

Interesting how your argument was that Bobo was in better shape because he had access to two 4 star QBs but when a zero star QB has more success it’s not coaching but just that he’s a better player than the 2 or 3 star guys on the other team.

It's almost as if the facts need to be adjusted to fit the conclusion, rather than the other way around.

We only beat 1 SEC team we didn’t beat the year before. In other words we went from a 5 win team in a normal year to a 6 win team. That isn’t saying Beamer hasn’t helped the program a lot but that’s all in spite of the O. We beat Kentucky and Missouri with average OC.

We went to a 6 win team due to our D not the O. Go watch that ECU game when the D nearly outscored the O. Even in Florida game the D shut them down after early drives and scored the TD to break their back.

Come now. It's not fanboy love with Mrs. Satterfield. It's marital bliss. 😏

We need to replace Adkins. Satterfield will be fine if he has a line he can trust to open holes and keep the D off his QB.
