Tates Locke, Cliff Ellis, Charlie Pell, Danny Ford - documented (WELL documented) stories of deceit and deception.
Quoting former clemson-star, 'Tree' Rollins, while playing for the Atlanta Hawks: "They paid me about $60,000 - but that included my car, which was almost $8,000 - so really, it was only about $13,000-$14,000 per year."
There was a 'pecking order' in the athletic program, football and basketball players received their steroids free; but 'track' athletes had to pay clemson's trainers for their pills! (But they could still GET them!!!)
It's a sad, sorry history. One that many clemson fans under 40 have no idea occurred - and one that fans over 40 looked the other way and ignored as long as they kept winning. Today it's simply 'denied'.

NOPE. In 2014 clemson athletics reported 14 NCAA recruiting violations (after fighting an FOI request) - the 'report' for 2015 hasn't been filed yet. Some things never change. The amounts are 'larger' now, powder's replaced pills in many instances (but not all) while the 'women' are still women, as in "ready and willing to help clemson win". That's what they mean by being 'all-in".
