but these next two series are even huger. (chill)

the closer we can get to 14 conference wins vs UT and AU the better. A&M and LSU are going to be very difficult to get a win vs and 14 SEC wins has more or less been the ncaa tourney invite line, though A&M got in a few years ago with a 13-16 record.

if we take the UT and AU series and lose both LSU an A&M with no sweeps, we'd be sitting right at 14-16 which would maybe get us in.

what will be ironic is if we get into the SEC tourney and actually win a few games with what is arguably our worst team in decades. right now we're in but by a only hanging in there by a thread....

This series win just gives us a glimmer of hope we could get it together and really start to turn things around.

This may be the worst team we have had in a while, but they aren't as bad as our record indicates IMO. We have had some unexplainable things going on-
senior who batted around .300 two years straight and should have been a locked in starter for us ( Bright) is hitting .150?!?

Destino- superstar freshman comes in and prior to SEC play was batting about .350, and tied for the team lead in HRs, and he goes ZERO FOR SIXTY THREE through his first half of the SEC season? Finally got his first SEC hits this weekend.. Drove in a run too!

Crowe- Friday night starter- pitches through a ligament tear for two games because HE DIDN'T REALIZE HE WAS HURT? We got mashed in both those games... And are now down our best pitcher the remainder of the season...

We have gotten projected production from guys we expected to lean on- Martin, Schrock is finally hitting Like himself, Caldwell... Cone and a gore have been OK at the plate and Arendas seems to be coming around But it seems MOST THE REST OF THE LINEUP IS HITTING BELOW .200!!! WTH!?? Our best infielder cannot play every night because he is batting like .120 (and now has a torn hammy), skew e have to move guys around and play a much more shaky option at short... And the freshman who replaces him in the lineup was literally batting .000 prior to last night!? How can these players be this bad at hitting? A slump is one thing. You COME OUT OF A SLUMP. These guys are well over half way through the season and just flat out CANNOT HIT THE BASEBALL. They were all good hitters in HS, well recruited, talented ball players who just cannot out it together. How do you or edict that HALF YOUR TEAM will be completely worthless at the plate?

I don't get it, I don't know how to fix any of these things, I have been right there with everyone else thinking it is coaching most the year, but when you analyze what has cost us most of our losses it seems really hard to believe! Pitchers who are REALLY GOOD PITCHERS just losing command of the strike zone or giving up big hits at the worst times... Guys who have been really good fielders booting easy plays... Hard to believe. Maybe we got some of that tightness out of our System and they can catch fire and live up to their potential the rest of the year... Or maybe the inexplicable madness will continue. Regardless, this was a great weekend and we should celebrate this series win!

like most other organizations, it starts at the top and trickles down through the ranks. i think the talent is there but it needs to be guided and utilized properly. there's a huge mental aspect to the game and im still not sold that holbrook has that edge needed to guide this team.
