The ACC Reigns

UVA simply was better than TT tonight. Hit some huge shots and made 12/12 in FT in the OT. The deserved the title. As far as ruling college sports, lol... Basketball perhaps, and Clempsun was very good in the championship game, but the regular season 'grind' for acc football is a fornicating JOKE. Not Clempsun's fault that the acc pretty much sucks in football, its just a fact.

I agree with most of that. But at the time they are about to launch their network, they are on top of the college athletics world.

Football will do very little to benefit the ACC Network. They do not have fan interest in the sport and the interest should be at an all time low since traditional football powers with national brands like FSU and Miami are stuck in quagmires that are pulling them down.

Respectfully, I'm going to disagree with this assessment.
First you have defending NC Clemson, so they will bring in interest every Saturday. Then you have Syracuse which won 10 games last year and their fan base is once again energized. Mendenhall at UVA looks to have them on an upward trajectory. VaTech always has strong support. Now add the excitement that a new coach at school brings to a program and that will happen at L'ville, Ga Tech, UNC & Miami.
Not saying this is perpetual but there should be plenty of interest for 2019.

I'm going to disagree with your assessment on the assessment. In ACC football you have one team and that's it. If Clemson doesn't win the ACC in football then it would be one of the biggest upsets in football history. The same can't be said for any other conference. Outside Clemson there isn't a rabid fans base in the ACC (Maybe Va, Tech). Miami and Fla St have become the jokes of the conference...which is a major problem for the conference. If those 2 teams can't get it together then Clemson will be the Kings of the ACC for the foreseeable future.

Sure is a lot of conjecture going on here.

Miami was 10-0 at one point in the 2017 season. They collapsed but their team isn’t a joke. FSU won a national title less than 5 years ago and has owned UF this decade. Like the SEC in hoops, the ACC has really invested in hiring good football coaches.

Baylor is in the ACC now? News to me.

Wow, when did this happen? ND is s part time member reaping the benefits of contending for acc championships while retaining their money on football, NOT SHARED WITH THE OTHERS. Deal made with the devil, so to speak!

acc football is NOT very good right now. Clemson and Syracuse withstanding. Whenever an 7-6 team is the divisional champion and unranked (Pittsburgh), that’s all you need to know. FSU and Miami are mere shells of their former selves. VT had a losing record, I believe? WF, DOOK, GT, UNC, BC and others just aren’t very good right now. UVA and NCST seem to be on the rise, or maintaining decent programs.

Apparently their fan base see them as a joke (Miami). The crowds at their games is an embarrassment to the history of that program. FSU? Do they even have a QB on their roster? We are not talking history but the future...and it doesn't look good for the ACC unless you're Clemson

Louisville has fallen, FSU is in disarray and lost Jimbo Fisher to Texas AM Miami fell well below expectations last year and Mark Richt resigned, Virginia Tech fell below expectations last season. On top of all of that information, compare their recruiting class rankings to the schools in the SEC and the facilities that are being built. ACC is very mediocre except for Clemson.

ACC provides little competition for Clemson. Same for the SEC and Bama, Big 10 and Ohio State and Big 12 and Oklahoma.

Over the last 4 years, this is the number of conference losses by school:

Clemson - 2
Bama - 2
Oklahoma - 3
Ohio State - 4

Bama and Clemson’s average margins of victory in conference games were absurd last year, with only Syracuse and Georgia coming close. Same for OU.

Every year the Bama-LSU game gets hyped, but it is never competitive anymore. Let’s hope LSU can manage a field goal maybe this year.

The reality is, there are four teams dominating their conferences for the last four years and despite “conference reputations”, none of them are having any significant challengers within their leagues. Other teams need to step up to change this dynamic.

When you're up, there's only one place to go. Same ol Taters and ACC have to come to our message board to beat their chests like Tarzan. Thanks but we don't need your input.

Not really. Logic says 3 places to go: elevate, remain plateau'd or fall....

I don’t think the ACC needs but one team in football. By and large, that’s all they had from 1992-2011ish with FSU, but they had Diddy Bowden. Couple his love for a sound byte, and teams that were always exciting, not to mention 14? straight top 5 finishes, and it was enough to carry the conference, and still attract new members, no matter how poorly they fit.....(like Mizzou, and those dbags from aTm). They couldn’t be launching their network at a better time. As for Clemson, we all hate it, but you know Dabo is Bowden II, he’s won more MNC’s in less time, and they are exciting, and worst of all he plays the media even more. And the media exposure is a million times greater than in Bowden’s heyday. The second worst part is, there is nothing that is stopping that train right now. They are going to tie that record for top 10 finishes if all of us don’t step it up, big time. Our ad, coaches, players have their work cut out for them.

LOL!!! Because the "grind" that U5uC had this year was tough. It (for an 8th straight year) didn't include Alabama. You lost for a 5th straight year to TAMU, a fifth straight year to "fornicating JOKE" ACC opponent Clemson, and a 4th straight year to UGA. It culminated with the utter beatdown by the aforementioned "fornicating JOKE" ACC opponent in UVA, which is a perennial middle of the pack team, at best. You haven't earned the right to tout an SEC schedule until you actually do something with it.
So, to reiterate, your "grind" the last 8 years:
0-0 vs Alabama
0-2 vs LSU
0-2 vs Auburn
0-5 vs TAMU

Clemson, on the other hand, has done quite well against the same SEC elite. During that same 8 year span, they are
4-0 vs Auburn
1-0 vs LSU
1-0 vs TAMU
2-2 vs Alabama on the way to two National Championships
culminating in a 5-0 run vs y'all.

Tony Bennett proves you don’t have to be a screaming, cursing wild man to coach great defense and win it all.

Bennett initially decided to once again remain loyal to WSU. However, when Bennett went to call Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage and decline the offer, Bennett's wife Laurel stepped in and said "put the phone down," as she could sense a great uncertainty in his voice when he said he would pass up UVA.

Bennett then accepted the Virginia offer, on March 29th.

Go get a life fornicator. Your program is very good right now. Your week in and week out competition is PATHETIC. Moo U. is a football school in a conference dominated by basketball schools. Damn, having to play WF, BC, and others must be grinding? CU has the biggest stadium, with the most fans, and best facilities in the acc. USC on the other hand has, at best, the seventh largest stadium in the SEC, with good fans, and better facilities than the past. Kow Kollege is set up for success in that scenario. If you didn't dominate most of the sisters of the poor during football season, then something is amiss!

For example, UNC held their Spring Game this past Saturday on a beautiful day, with a new coach at the helm! Official attendance was below 2,000. You cannot make that shit up! There in lies the difference in what CU faces vs. what Carolina faces during the season. GFY

Agree with all this, but it unfortunately underscores the awfulness of our loss to UVA in the Belk Bowl.
