shocked by these stats.....

Clemson’s win over Alabama in the national championship last season gave the ACC a 9-3 postseason record, tying a national record for wins by conference. The ACC went 10-4 against the SEC in head-to-head matchups. Since 2012, the ACC has posted an 8-3 record in BCS or New Year’s Six Bowl games, including five consecutive Orange Bowl winners.

looking a head they are going to he a very solid conference again.

the SEC needs to step up so we can return to being the completely dominate conference

It's about time, don't you think? Contractual deals with conferences damaged the bowl system, and aided the weaker conferences. In some cases, you had weaker conference champs playing the 3rd or 4th best teams from other conferences. Let the ACC beat their chest for awhile. It won't last. Other than geographical location and/or proximity to family, I have no idea why any kid would want to play in the ACC. The SEC has a collection of the greatest stadiums in college football to play in. The size of ACC schools' stadiums compare to SEC stadiums 40 years ago. Some SEC teams have greater attendance at Sring games than ACC teams do at rival games.

Where have you been, the SEC has been on a steady decline for several years basically because of Nick Saban. There is so much pressure in the SEC to win, the whole league has imploded.

UGA, LSU, UT, UF, AU and soon to be A&M all are firing good coach for not being able to beat Bama. Ole Miss and UT reached for coaches that sent the programs backwards. UG and UGA may join this group soon.

It is not that Other league have risen up to the level of the sec, the SEC has dropped to the level of the other leagues.

Which good coach has UT fired because of Saban? Derek Dooley? Butch Jones later this year?

Fulmer, which started the decline of the western world in Knoxville. This lead to reaching for Kiffen with all of his red flags, going safe with Dooley, and then hiring a rodeo clown in Butch. What a mess.

Fulmer was not fired because he couldn't beat Bama. Only a 2 year overlap with Saban and a 12-5 record overall against Bama. He was fired becasue Tennessee fans think they should win the SEC and national championships every year and because he struggled mightily against Spurrier and Meyer at UF.

You got me on that one, but it was for the same reason.

If what you say is true, bodes well for us.

Lots of very large churches sitting almost empty every Sunday. Size of the buildings doesn't matter. As much as I hate to say it, the ACC's top teams have done extremely well recently against the top teams of other conferences, the national stage. In the last 4 years they have 2 national championships and 2 Heisman winners. 17 year old recruits don't care about what you did 10 years ago. And you'd best believe Dabo and Co are selling the "Do you want to lose to Bama for 4 years?" question to the recruits.

Manziel, Marshall, Murray, Shaw, Mettenberger all moved on and all were replaced by lesser talents. There's the crux of the SEC decline right there.

Couldn't happen to a better crowd. Lane was brought in because they thought he would clean up the program after years of Fulmer's players raping and pilageing ( yes literally ) and Phil making excuses for them and questioning the police openly in the local paper.
