My personal opinion is that someone with local connections is critical. There is no basketball messiah out there that is going to save us. I think we have to build this thing up from the grassroots level, one relationship at a time,

I can imagine that when interviews take place and the interviewee is "introduced around", the AD may ask other coaches (e.g., tennis, golf, football soccer, etc.) for their "thoughts."
