We're playing pretty well, but have they eve played Stokes yet? Their tallest player?
This. Our typical offense consists of working the ball around the perimeter until we can make an entry pass. Can't do that here. Also, our guard are going to have to create off the dribble. That means drive and kick or drive and stop. You have to create high-percentage shots.Originally posted by G-C-Gamecock:
Can't play playground ball against this team. Need better shots.
It's not just about conditioning. They play a lot of man defense. That wears on teams when they don't play a lot of players. At this point, we play 10, and they play 7.Originally posted by usaguy40:
i dont think conditioning is going to be a problem for uconn
They only played 6, and the 6th player didn't even register a point or a rebound.Originally posted by uscbeckham:

That usually makes a difference if the game is close. USC needs to trim this lead down some and strike late.
Move the ball with a little intelligence for crying out loud.
Agree. They are shooting very well, so we aren't getting any transition baskets. In the half-court, their defense isn't outstanding; however, they do have the luxury of packing the paint.Originally posted by ReadR00ster:
UConn just has a lot of primo scorers. That is the only difference I see. They aren't killing us in the paint or turnovers or anything. We aren't shooting badly, just badly compared to THEM. They scored 47 points on one of the top 1-3 defenses.
