of the ladies game against ND on DVR. Had not watched the game before that. While I was proud that our ladies fought back, it was clear that no one on on this team was confident in shooting an outside shot. The only thing our ladies should work on over the next few months is shooting. ND just packed it in, just like most teams did throughout the year, challenging us to hit the outside shot. It also seemed to me we just aren't as quick as other teams as a whole. While I expect our team to be very good, I don't think we can advance any further than we did without shooters.

We advanced extremely far with weak 3 pt. and ft shooting - was amazing, actually, and I'm just SO proud of them. We do have to work on these issues to win a title imo and I expect we'll do just that!

I agree on the need for 3-point shooters on this team. Put 1-2 players on the court who are 'sure things' from the 3-point range, bomb the lazy defenses who hug the paint, and then they'll come out of their zone - at that point, it's all over - 'Cocks win!

Easier said than done. Not everyone can shoot the ball like the Lewis girl from UCONN. I know SC does not like to shoot the three a lot under Staley and prefers the inside game. That being said - Mitchell shot 42% from three point range for the year, which is pretty darn good. She actually was shooting over 50% from that range most of the season, but she fell off down the stretch. Tina Roy shot 39% from three point land, which is also good - but she was 0-3 against ND. So I think SC has good shooters, they just didn't have a good night. Teams have packed it in vs. SC all year and they still found a way.

It looked like Mitchell was trying to pass to Wilson at the foul line when the ND player tipped the ball and then when it was going out of bounds, the ND player made a huge play by saving it and tipping it back to Mitchell to force her into a desperate shot.

Overall, great year. Just had a bad night shooting from the outside and the foul line.

You should go back and watch the first 8 minutes, that's where the game was decided. We were down 12 with 14:30 left in the 1st half before A'ja Wilson entered the game. She scored 20 points in 24 minutes of play. So despite our lack of outside shooting, we still could have made the NCAA Championship game had she played more.

No need overcomplicate things. We just need to play our best players and play them a lot.

They will get plenty of time next year. The formula worked for 34 wins, so I have no problem with starting the experienced players. Starting the others guarantees nothing. Perhaps they pick up early fouls like Ibiam did and cannot play as many minutes, you never know. There are many different scenarios you can look back and say "if only" this happened. Also think about the "what if's" for ND - in the last few minutes, they missed shots from 4 feet or less on three straight possessions that gave SC a chance. "IF" they don't miss those, perhaps SC never gets close - Who knows?

Great game. Great season. Hopefully they have good leadership and fortune next year. Go Gamecocks!
