Make sure to read this article (dated 7/1/21) that will inform you of the various restrictions in place when visiting Italy. I had some friends who decided to postpone their trip to Rome due to rules that would limit access to certain points of interest.I've done a good bit of research but I'm looking for any recommendations on favorite bars and restaurants that you may have have visited in Venice.....thanks in advance....CIAO
I’ve never been, but my brother in law has whilst he was in the Marines. He went to many bars, got sideways, and fell off into one of the waterways. He had to take a multitude of shots for being in the nasty water. Uncle Sam was not pleased with his behavior.I've done a good bit of research but I'm looking for any recommendations on favorite bars and restaurants that you may have have visited in Venice.....thanks in advance....CIAO
LOL . . . wrong Venice.Yeah the redfish and trout bite is insane down there . Love that part of Louisiana!!
Thanks but we already have an Airbnb on the next canal to the eastLodging recommendation: B&B Corte Campana.
Not interested in "Americanized" at all . . . this is Italy! . . . thanks. You really can't throw a stone without hitting a bar or pub. I've been there many times. Are you looking for something "Americanized" or just a place to get a drink? Most tourists start in San Marco Square, then branch off. Most will tell you to stay away from where tourists go because it's over priced. Go to a hole in the wall place, make a friend and they will show you the good places. Venice "Mestre" is a good city too.
Enjoy yourself. Now, if you happen to make it to Firenze, Milan or Rome...let me know. There is one live music spot in Rome that has a great selection of whiskey. Not interested in "Americanized" at all . . . this is Italy! . . . thanks.
We ate a great restaurant in Venice but don't recall the name of it. We spent a month in Europe and thoroughly enjoyed every destination, including Venice. If I find the name of the restaurant, I will pass it along. It was a small Italian restaurant. It seated guests in two-hour blocks: 7-9 p.m. or 9-11 p.m.Thanks but we already have an Airbnb on the next canal to the east
Found the name of the restaurant. We had an excellent meal at Osteria Alla Staffa. Thanks but we already have an Airbnb on the next canal to the east
Take the vaporetto over to Lido and explore the island. There are several rooftop bars with a beautiful view of Venice in the distance. There is also a beach on the other side of the island, and at one time there was a casino - not sure if it is still there though.
Many bars in Venice have a dress code so be sure to ask before entering to avoid an embarrassing situation. If you're wearing shorts and a teeshirt while exploring the city then you may not be allowed in certain bars.
