But with critical thinking skills, you would think “well wonder what percentage of tax payers make 400k a year?” Then you would do a simple google search and realize 98% of taxpayers make less than 400k. So if 90% of audits are for 98% of the population, that actually means you’re less likely to be audited than someone making 400k a year.
Then even better, you would learn about the Earned Income Tax Credit and the mandatory “audit” when the person turns out to not actually be eligible for it. They’re not really audits that you think about where people go through their tax records and require in person visits. They’re just compliance checks.
On top of that, this data is from 2019-2023 when the Biden plan wasn’t passed until 2022 so long before it could ever make a drastic change.
So with those critical thinking skills you would clearly see the through this misinformation.
