Well, our Poor

Its sad to see how we've let the politicians divide us so much these days. Some of you may be too young but there was a time where it did not matter who you voted for, after the election you were an American and supported the President and the Office. Anyone remember the Dixie Chicks and that slight comment they made about not agreeing with Bush going into Iraq, it tanked their careers....now look at all the mud slinging going on and its considered just normal.

The country and society is irreparably divided and it's only going to get much, much worse. This very board proves that.

I had to count them with help from my wife, but I've lost 3 friends in the last 8 years due to politics. Two were from church, and another one was my professional mentor for 20 years.

At lunch one day, my mentor said something very bad about a group of people and said that Trump would basically end their freedom for no reason other than hate. That stunned me and impacted my own family and I knew immediately things had to change between us. (No, it wasn't a racist slur). I haven't talked to him in 7 years. He also didn't reach out to me. He immediately knew I couldn't stay friends with him. I knew it too.

In the other two cases, we drifted apart. I would have never thought politics would do that because we really never even talked politics. But it did. In both cases, they brought up politics to me when we weren't discussing any political issue and made it a litmus test on the spot. In both cases, I refused to play their game.

My wife's social media pages are absolutely full of people we know that didn't seemingly give a damn about politics 10-12 years ago and now post political stuff (all sides) almost every single post on their own social media pages.

A local pastor in my area that never posts about politics put on his facebook page a few weeks ago that one of the Sunday school classes at his church had disintegrated because they got to talking politics in the class and most of the people in that class had quit coming to church. (he didn't say what exactly they were talking about).

I think all the "norms" are way out the window now. That stuff just isn't important anymore.

I can still remember when George Bush was campaigning in Illinois in 2020 and he turned to Dick Cheney and used a profanity to refer to a reporter that he had seen in the crowd and he was ripped bad for using a vulgar term. He wasn't even saying it to the reporter. He was saying it to Cheney and it was overheard and picked up by a microphone. -

That wouldn't even make news now at all.

It's going to be hilarious when Crockett and AOC are in charge.

You're going to have to go even further into your mom's basement.

That's not going to happen and it wouldn't be good if it did. I'm not saying they aren't smart. They are. But they can't win wide support.

I'm not predicting things. But I will look to someone more like Wes Moore or Andy Beshear as the possible future. I could even see Pete B putting up a fight.

Womp womp! Well, 10/15 years ago, people still had common sense and the Democratic Party still cared about American Values. Not this AOC, green, liberal, illegal alien agenda pushing crap! Your party has gone so far left, it doesn’t even resemble itself anymore.

Wrong, that's NOT what he said.

"top-down, billionaire-funded, consultant-driven"

THAT is exactly what got you the most liberal candidate to ever top the Democratic ticket in an election. Even more liberal than Bernie. The billionaires and consultants installed Kamala from the TOP while COMPLETELY ignoring the voters at the BOTTOM that voted for Biden. Meanwhile, the Republicans allowed their voters to choose, even if it meant a loss. Most of the Republicans at the top DID NOT want Trump. Most thought he was unelectable. But the voters made the choice, and they stuck with their voters.
It's wild you can't complete this thought process and recognize that's what's Bernie is saying. The Trump voters threw a revolution in the Republican Party because they were tired of the top-down, billionaire-funded, consultant-driven nominees like Bush, McCain, Romney. They then elected an extremist in Trump. While that's been a disaster for the country, republicans have shown that people like extremists.

So now the Democrats are going to have the same internal revolution, and you're going to get a real radical leftist president. Who hopefully is less corrupt than Trump.

Kamala would have NEVER made it through the Dem primary. It would have absolutely been someone more moderate, and they absolutely would have had a better chance at winning.

No, it would have been someone more left. People were mad at the lack of student loan forgiveness. Kamala lost voters who supported Gaza. You're completely missing the point.

The country is calling out for a liberal populist.

You see how many lower-middle class voters flocked to Trump's populist messaging, even though his populist messaging is all a lie. A liberal populist, who will actually improve the lives of the lower-middle class will be hugely successful.

We know now the root issue is that the new-age Democratic Party hijacked mainstream news outlets and stirred up half of America's minds with total propaganda largely on the taxpayer's dime.

You've been one of the biggest victims of this and now you're going to preach?

How many times have you called big issues "conspiracy theories" over the past 4 years alone only to play the fool within a matter of months?

How many times did you post "fact checker" nonsense over the years?

How many shots did you take because they told you it was "safe and effective?"

Dave, there's a laundry list we could go through.

We joke about TDS but it's a real thing and it's totally blinded you from any objective thinking whatsoever.

You make it sound like you're some authority on the matter.

How can you be an authority when you can't even recognize that your party is 180 degrees from what is was 20 years ago?

100% correct DeeDave...if I remember correctly one of the J6 folks own son was the one that turned him in, and I've read of many other examples of politics breaking up immediate families as well, not just extended families or friends. I really could have never imagined seeing the things we are seeing these days, the corruption, childish behavior, easily refuted lies, etc that so many people believe and it does not matter the evidence presented to them, they still believe and support the BS. The stolen election is a good example, 60+ lost lawsuits, FOX and Newmax settling lawsuits with Smartmatic and Dominion for the voter machine lies, the J6 riots and physical violence against law enforcement, yet they just turn the other cheek. I was one of the people who believed Trump's lies in 2016, but by 2017 I saw the light and stopped believing his BS as he did nothing in his first term he said he would do. Had to LOL at the last debate when he said he had a "concept" of a healthcare plan, when in 2016 he said he had the greatest ever plan ever he was going to replace Obamacare with :) then talked about people eating our pets.......SMH my goodness what will it take for people to see the BS that spews from his lips?

But all sides point at each other and say the same thing. Both are 100% convinced the other side is immoral and has lost their minds, and that the other side doesn't support "American values" - whatever that means today.

My post was in response that now, more so than 10/15 years ago, everything is about politics all the time.

If someone posts on social media about a movie, 50% of the people are attacking one of the actors over who they voted for. The other 50% are defending the actor.

if someone posts on social media about a product they bought, 50% of the people are attacking the product because the CEO of the company supposedly voted for so and so. If they don't really know who the CEO voted for, someone will make it up.

If someone says they liked going to a particular city on vacation because the weather was good and the restaurants they ate at were new and fun, 50% of the people will attack the poster because the majority of folks in the state are liberal or conservative.

There was a time, not very long ago, where this didn't happen except in extreme corners of the talk radio world or internet. Now, it's right out in open on Facebook or whatever social media site someone is on.

Not that long ago- maybe 2010/2012, for someone to publicly call someone else a vulgar term because of personal politics was something you might hear a talk radio host say on AM radio to a local audience. These days, you have coworkers or even friends online routinely referring to other coworkers and friends that voted differently in a vulgar manner. This is now common.

Just remember how corrupt you idiotic liberals are! You import violent, illegal gang members, but you’re hell bent on them not getting deported! Thats how stupid you are…

Posts like yours are one of the problems- and both sides do it.

Accusing the other side of the worst possible things- which of course isn't remotely true. It's the kind of straw man arguments.

I am not corrupt. I am an ethical person. I have been unusually successful in business because my clients trust me and have depended on our trust for numerous decades.

As I have posted before, I am someone who turns down even something as trivial as cups of coffee from business clients because I didn't want to give the impression that I would ever accept something as a favor. I was taught that approach by my supervisor when I worked for the state of south carolina.

"illegal" gang members should be in jail somewhere.

I want anyone breaking the law to be deported if they aren't an American citizen.

However, I do want it done properly. I don't want a politician violating the law, or going around the judicial process to do anything because that's a very bad road to go down and is precedent setting.

That remains to be seen.

I think such a populist could win. But I am not a big fan of populists in general.

My preference right now would be someone more along the line of Moore or Beshear.

Yes, his son did turn him in. His son said he was abused by him and is now fearful of his life.

Politics has developed into a game with normal people not unlike college rivalries.

How many times have you seen a news story about a very positive thing that a player or fan of the "rival" school did and then you hear a rival school's fan attack that player, even for something very positive? It happens all the time.

The people that benefit the most from politics are the people that convince others that the opposing side is evil, immoral, different. It's an old game.

The new angle for disillusioned Democrats is "both sides do it."

No they don't.

The Democratic Party was responsible for USAID and ACTBLUE which stole massive amounts of money from Americans.

The Democratic Party used "no voter ID" to cheat the system.

The Democratic Party used hoaxes and media scripts to convince you Trump was the worst person to ever walk the planet.

It's a never ending list of total corruption.

There are some bad eggs on the Republican side who participated in the war machine grab - but the Democratic Party is in a class by itself.

The fact that Harris couldn't flip ONE COUNTY in the US during the election is all you need to know.

That's almost impossible to do.

And that was before all of the corruption unfolded.

Try again.

It's honestly impressive how the party committing the most corruption has convinced you it's all the other side with misinformation.

U.S. — A district judge has issued a ruling saying Trump lacked the Constitutional authority to pick up two astronauts who have been stranded at the International Space Station for several months.

SpaceX has been ordered to return the astronauts immediately.

I still can’t grasp the mindset of an ignorant liberal! You morons go and burn Tesla vehicles and put these Nazi Symbols on them. You’re literally mad at some guy finding money laundering. Fuqn Neanderthals

some idiots burning a Tesla is not representative of liberals anymore than Nick Fuentes and his racist podcast and listeners aren't representative of right wingers.

These are MAGAMegalodon''s 21, they do not understand anything other than what FOX, Newsmax or One America News tells them. I often chuckle when I think about the right wing saying all the other news networks are fake news and have been lying to everyone for decades, who ever heard of fake news before 2015 when the King was running for office, or maybe it was 2016 when he was elected and the press secretary stated something she said was "alternative facts".....man you just have to laugh at it. The fake news outlets, who have settled lawsuits for millions for defamation since the election, call other news sources fake news and they believe it. Had the election been stolen, they could have proved it in a court of law, which they did not, lost 60+ lawsuits, but they dont see that on the right wing media machine......they just sit there and lap it up...LOL

Have to admire the art of the deal here.

Russia gets to take a break and resupply and rearm themselves for future battles while Ukraine has to cease all resupply and rearmament.

What a dream deal if you're Russia.

You're coming across like a coward with silly talking points -- regurgitating what you see on TV.

I don't watch any TV at all.

Let's talk policy and what's happening with your party right now.

But you have no desire to do that do you?

This is why I pegged you as a Gomer from the outset.

It's easy to identify Gomers via their content.

No taxes 150k and under gonna be hard to beak skippy. Libs only tax more. Your done

This is precisely the type of populist lie that works well for Trump.

This will never happen under a Republican administration but it sounds nice.
Smart Man! It does ring better than a gang rapist for every neighborhood!! Lol. Yall love criminals and violence. Keep on keeping on. Do what ya do. We appreciate ya!
