What do y'all think of Spencer Rattler now? 30 of 37 and 6 TD passes and no interceptions. He is a good QB. Can get "rattled" when hit a bunch, but give him time and he can be very good.

I think Satterfield quit asking him to throw 17 passes at or behind the line of scrimmage.

Great game by Rattler but there’s no question 2 of the last 3 games either:
A. Someone else is calling plays
B. There has been a directive to change the play calling identity of this team

I agreed with A and B and started asking questions. I think something will come out regarding those assumptions and I hope it’s a good thing for all.

I gotta wonder if additional playing time by Joyner early in the game helped him step up.
What I really like about him having a good game when he did is (I've mentioned this before) the tater's secondary is no better than the Vols'.

Accurate assessment of their secondary. Gives us chance in the game.

I posted on the other board asking what the differences were last night. I thought one was that he was getting the ball out really quickly and accurately. This was the first game I felt like he was really in command, and he looked excellent. I for one, haven't been as critical of Rattler. I felt Satt was setting him up for failure. I did want to see what another QB could do, but that's unnecessary if he can continue playing this well. Even if he is only half as good as he was last night it would still be better than the rest of the season.

Rattler played a great game. He's always been a great QB in practice and playing one of the absolute worst secondaries and defenses in college football, he and the OL were able to tee off at home. More importantly, he and the offense finally gave our defense some time to catch their breath against a good team and show that they can content with the most explosive offense in the country. Good play. Good coaching. Good gameplan. Now let's see if that provides any confidence moving forward.
