Why was Dabo so upset on the onside kick?

Great call; Clemson lined up in a way that left plenty of room for the pooch kick, and perfect execution gave them absolutely no chance to recover. You can't do it any better than that.

It looked like he said "we didn't touch the ball." Surely he's not that dumb. I must have read his lips wrong. Did he think Bama's was offside? It didn't appear close on replay.

He was upset because he didn't think of it. His team alignment basically asked for it. He was also upset the refs didn't bail them out like they have several times this year by calling bogus offsides.

Right after when they showed Nick's grin, afterward, that was the priceless "those stupid taters" grin.

Two plays later, OJ Howard was left completely uncovered down the middle of the field. I realize Dabo doesn't coach defense, but he needed to regain his composure so his team could focus on getting the stop. Poor coaching.

Bingo! Dumbo got caught with his pants down on the biggest college stage possible. He HAD to do something to make it look like Bama fouled on the play. They love to do those kind of plays against other teams (fake punt against Oklahoma for example) but can't stand it when someone does it to them. Dumbo should hire a ST coach! He's not getting it done!

Rule #2 says it was legal. It went over the restraining line and stayed there. Says nothing about having to hit the ground first. It has to satisfy one of the conditions and it did. If it goes past 10 yards, ball is live for anyone to catch or cover.

Yep as good as Clemson looked at times on defense they forgot to cover (or tackle) the tight end throughout the night. Bit them in the end.

what was the bit about the clock, time management.. where he was pointing at his watch before half.. If he wanted time out, why didnt he call time out?

That TE would be a star anywhere else, still will be a high NFL pick though, not used much in his career

I think they should change the rule so that if the kicking team catches the ball, they can advance it. That would add some more excitement to an onside kick.

I've often wondered why in the world that rule (can't advance an onsides) is even in place.

I think that was the only time I saw him smile during the game. (May be the only time he's smiled all season - lol!) It was excellent.

Herbstreit called out Clemson fans this morning on Mike & Mike. "The play was perfectly legal."

I really hope some of you Clempson posters don't actually have degrees at Clempson. Or you guys were posting this after quite a few beers.

Boolean logic and linear algebra lessons should be on your 2016 list.
