We did the champagne thing last evening while watching Taipei 101, one of the tallest building in the world, go through it's amazing light up in the countdown to 12:00. At the stroke of midnight, the building, which is rigged with an astounding amount of fireworks, starts going off like a roman candle. It's a helluva sight. Here's a shot of it (borrowed, as we weren't that close this year):
Now it's morning, we've had our coffee, and have started the year off right (nods to @shmitty )
