    I thought Auburn would have their new Head Football Coach named by now.

    If I was a talented college coach, I would want a position where I had one boss, the AD. At Auburn (and Texas) the head football coach has to answer to dozens of donors as much or more than he does the AD. Personally, I would find that to be a most unpleasant situation.

    While I'm sure many used COVID-19 as cover to quit through the "opt out" proviso, I don't think the coach can cut a player because he opted out. He'd have to find some other way to weed out the quitters from those who actually did opt out due to COVID.
