Anyone else see where Master Ps son, who is attending Tennessee St this Fall, signed for 2 million? Master P said its just like the pros now.
Somebody just pissed 2 million down a hole. Not seeing that kid as a good investment.Anyone else see where Master Ps son, who is attending Tennessee St this Fall, signed for 2 million? Master P said its just like the pros now.

LiesBRB. Will have to google who Master P and his son are
Is that what we want, though? If just a handful of us Carolina fans could hit the big lottery. Jerry Jones wouldn't be able to buy a team better than ours.
Worst thing in the world that could happen. Now - every sh!t player will mistakenly believe he is just a second away from a million (or multi-million) dollar payday.Anyone else see where Master Ps son, who is attending Tennessee St this Fall, signed for 2 million? Why are you so bitter about kids making money?Worst thing in the world that could happen. Now - every sh!t player will mistakenly believe he is just a second away from a million (or multi-million) dollar payday.
If this kid was worth a crap 1) he wouldn't be known as Master Ps son at all...just whatever his name is and 2) he wouldn't be at Tennessee State.
I'm guessing his dad or some company with reach to his dad is involved.
Now all the non starters (and 50% of the starters) on every D1 team can now earn $285 over the course of six months from their "sponsorships".
This kid had offers from all kinds of blue blood programs. He chose TSU to go to an HBCU.Worst thing in the world that could happen. Now - every sh!t player will mistakenly believe he is just a second away from a million (or multi-million) dollar payday.

The name on the front woundn’t have near the sports value if it were not for the name on the back just saying. They should co exist and also each make money co existing. Just sayingNIL.....is it really worth it to the greater whole of collegiate athletes?
I'm a free market guy. You hope there is something tangible to generate $$s. This goes back to what's most important...the name on the front, or the name on the back. The name on the back wants to USE the name on the front to make money and call it a business decision. Like it or not...every D1 football program is an actual, tangible business. Not just an idea....not just a naive, BS pipedream born out of driving a Ford Escort but wanting to drive a Lambo.
Personally, I hope the NCAA and all related universities greatly reduce the amount university-given benefits and contributions behind the scenes. Since these are "bidness" decisions, these players(kids) and the supporting idiots alike could learn about business and how the real world works.
Take away all food, medical, housing, books and everything else besides tuition payment for them all...and 99% of them would go back to the old system if that were the case. Hey... if you're an independent contractor and YOUR name means so much...let's see how it goes. Also file your own taxes, and actually PAY those taxes owed. Now that you're making real money, let's see how they like paying that tax back.
From a competitive advantage/disadvantage....IF people are dumb enough to support these kids and help them make big money....I'm fully expecting every D1 university in Florida (no state income tax) to rise to a super power in the next 5 years. I know a working student has to file 1040s if making over a certain amount annually. Also, the Clemsons and OSUs of the world...and a few others sitting atop the D1 landscape AT THE TIME this is being introduced will benefit the most from it as well. It guarantees them getting the players/athletes who want the quickest/biggest pay day.
Anyone else see where Master Ps son, who is attending Tennessee St this Fall, signed for 2 million? Master P said its just like the pros now.
You gotta be kidding about the front and back names. South Carolina football would exist and continue with or without this year's recruiting class or the one from 2000. The program is the control....the players the variable. South Carolina will sell a bunch more #7 jerseys the next time a guy that wears that jersey is really good. They show up to cheer for WHOMEVER is in that #7 jersey...no matter the name on the back. The name on the front woundn’t have near the sports value if it were not for the name on the back just saying. They should co exist and also each make money co existing. Just saying
I also agree this will help the top tier now. Clemson, Alabama, OSU will all benefit from this. Clemson and their alumni are willing to spend money that has been apparent as of late.
guaranteed. Why do I have this feeling that all these NIL deals will not end well for players and their family when they file for their taxes next year...
By saying names on the back you mean The players and all the players not just cherry picking. Remember if you take out the top tier the ones left become the top tier. Therefore without atheletes there wouldn’t be any sports teams. So yes I meant exactly what I said and no I’m not kidding. Without the athletes the sports programs have zero value. You gotta be kidding about the front and back names. Every year about half of MOST D1 recruiting classes figure out that they are very average in relation to the group they now exist amongst. The name on the back concept you are talking about is the many incarnations of "pro" football that have been attempted. If the NFL didn't have it's roots in the name on the front concept...it would have folded by now too. But that generation is dying in the next 20-25 years...so.....
Most true fans have a hard time uttering who our starting Right Tackle or Free Safety was in 2018...or even a QB in 2015. This new NIL BS MIGHT shine a spotlight on that 95% of college athletes are overrated and pretty even amongst each other. It's like pro sports....5-8% of guys are freak athletes and the overwhelming majority are a combo of size, good athleticism, hard work/work ethic, attitude and luck.
So, is this a QB and DE only payout opportunity? I can't wait to see how inter-team jealousies work out with this when one guy who isn't as good as another is getting paid more money monthly. Might be some Tonya Harding situations happening.
LMAO... this is just all part of the welfare mindset some of the country has adapted here recently. Use someone else's or some entity's platform and claim responsibility and feel entitled that you have done something. Tell these great athletes to go play at Gardner Webb and see how much cache they have. All these players are interchangeable....every 3-4 years they cycle out. But everyone under age 25 and those over 25 who still don't have a full time job believe collegiate players are a 'brand' because Paris Hilton types and other no talent social network celebrities have figured a way to live off of other rubes.By saying names on the back you mean The players and all the players not just cherry picking. Remember if you take out the top tier the ones left become the top tier. Therefore without atheletes there wouldn’t be any sports teams. So yes I meant exactly what I said and no I’m not kidding. You also are not paying attention to who is making money because even no names are making money. Some not even in football. So all the shit you are spewing is just that.
$285 over the course of 6 months? Oh NOOO! That is almost $48 a month! They could almost pay for half of a date with that! End of the world is nigh!! 🙄. What kind of moronic garbage are you spewing son? Might want to gather your thoughts before you post- as usual you make ZERO sense.Worst thing in the world that could happen. Now - every sh!t player will mistakenly believe he is just a second away from a million (or multi-million) dollar payday.

Their financial future and well being is already taken care of....when they get that $175-200k over a 4-5 year period of the best medical, food, clothing and time of their life as a D1 football player. For 99% of them....it will never be as good again.I appreciate all of the sincere concern for the athletes' wellbeing and financial future. This concern is selfless, I am sure.
Best way to learn is to screw up. The sooner they do, the better. Nothing wrong with a heavy dose of real life at a young age. LolWhy do I have this feeling that all these NIL deals will not end well for players and their family when they file for their taxes next year...
So...3rd grade division is a strong suit for you - congrats.$285 over the course of 6 months? Oh NOOO! That is almost $48 a month! They could almost pay for half of a date with that! End of the world is nigh!! 🙄. What kind of moronic garbage are you spewing son? Might want to gather your thoughts before you post- as usual you make ZERO sense.
It guarantees nothing. They should not arbitrarily be cut out of earnings.Their financial future and well being is already taken care of....when they get that $175-200k over a 4-5 year period of the best medical, food, clothing and time of their life as a D1 football player. For 99% of them....it will never be as good again.
How don't casual fans...much less a little more hardcore fans (the ones that grace this site with their time) know this????
Lmao, his first sentence, “I’m going to let it lie”. That is followed by 2 paragraphs of more bs.ok- I will let it lie. But 100% disagree. Though...it isn't arbitrarily done at all. They play on the field, and get compensated through living the best life on and off the field they ever will in their lives (for the most part). The thousands of alumni and fans generate interest make the event happen.....whether these players are playing or not.
I think they should do a pseudo NBA D league for football...and if a kid wants to go that route he is eligible to. But- going that route forfeits any chance to ever play collegiate football again. That way he can see if he's hype or for real....and college football remains the way it's been in an effort to not bastardize it anymore than has already been done. Also....if these athletes are "the draw"....then they should have no problem making money in this new NFL 'D' league.... and we can see if 80k people still show up to college games for the name on the front, or the name on the back.
Can you clarify the point you are trying to make here? And now, whatever sacrifice that might have entailed will be somewhat counterbalanced.
Why do you assume they can't get great medical coverage without going to a D1 program?Their financial future and well being is already taken care of....when they get that $175-200k over a 4-5 year period of the best medical, food, clothing and time of their life as a D1 football player. I'm not against adults making money...BUT if they're ready for a job like an adult has....hopefully a NFL 'D' league will be created, and they can prove that 1) they're worth whatever draw/money they think they're worth on their own and 2)they will be in an unlimited, free market place with the sky as the limit with absolutely no backing from a university, or affiliation with college athletics.Lmao, his first sentence, “I’m going to let it lie”. That is followed by 2 paragraphs of more bs.
Again, why are you so against adults making money. Lmao.
Also to answer your post above, who are you to decide what own adults do and do not need. Do you have someone decide what you do and do not need? Everything you have listed that that they “supposedly get” cost the schools pennies on the dollar compared to what the athletes make for the schools. Because again with out the athletes there are not any sports teams. This will be good for college football and help spread the talent instead of all the talent going to 4 or 5 teams and you have zero evidence that it won’t just like I have zero evidence that it will. College football will be just fine. Everyone acts like it’s something new for schools to get in a bidding war over a recruit. I can name several that changed school at the last minute due to money and it’s that obvious. You really need to take a step back and take a Xanax chicken little the sky is not falling. We just getting started and it’s going to be awesome.
I'm not assuming they can't get great medical coverage....but if they go take a 75k per year job with benefits....they won't have access to the immediate, and high level physicians and physical trainers that are employed by universities to help make sure athletes are taken care of. Multiple dieticians and nutritionists employed to make sure you're putting in your body the correct amount and caloric intake. Why do you assume they can't get great medical coverage without going to a D1 program?
Right it’s a symbiotic relationship now where both player and school can benefit. It use to be almost slave labor “kavanaugh words not mine” where only one entity profited while the other was restrained and held back. This is the way it should have been since day 1. You forget the Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY decided that this business model was against major USA laws.I'm not against adults making money...BUT if they're ready for a job like an adult has....hopefully a NFL 'D' league will be created, and they can prove that 1) they're worth whatever draw/money they think they're worth on their own and 2)they will be in an unlimited, free market place with the sky as the limit with absolutely no backing from a university, or affiliation with college athletics.
Why would they need some silly Collegiate Football program? They're the draw, right?
Also...without the university football team, there are no athletes. I'm not sure you are capable of understanding this from more than one perspective....but every year they keep showing up....even while unpaid. Also - how can college football be fine...you said you had zero evidence?
If choosing the school he chose meant a less cushier lifestyle, that sacrifice might be diminished by what the NIL agreement will afford him.Can you clarify the point you are trying to make here?
