Might as well lost the SEC tourney. The win does nothing for you in the NCAA's eyes. Good to take the trophy home for the girls I guess.
If we do that, I hope there's enough gas in the tank (physical and emotional) for the final four.
In our last ACC men's hoop contest 47 years ago, I think we were drained and felt that the ACC championship was the climax, so much so, that the dance became an afterthought.
But Dawn will do her best to keep the team focused should they make it to Columbus.

Ummm...UConn is the #1 overall seed. That typically would mean we would be the 8th overall seed—meaning we’re considered by the committee as the worst #2 seed. Not sure what rules you’re talking about?
I second that. With a tournament win and a decisive win over the #2 team. That should not get you a match up with the overall #1. They didn't mind throwing UGA in there again.
The same reasoning they put in a 16 win team because they had a good SOS even if they lost all those tough games.
That is not the way it works... No 1 seed can draw a 2 seed from it's own conference in the regionals.. We were the 2nd two behind Baylor.. Because of geography Texas went to west... Baylor has a great argument for a 1 seed

Dude they have few rules and make the rest up on the fly... The chance we had, once ND got a 1 over Baylor, was Texas going to Albany... The excuse the committee will use is we are closer to Albany than Texas.. Both teams would fly.. I know it's Bull shit.. But that's what they spin as rationale...

With what Staley has done here... I will no longer say "can't" with this program. I hope they make Final Four. If they don't, I will not disappointed. They've overcome a lot this year and achieved a lot as well!

Agree! The committee is supposed to take injuries, etc. into account. Notre D. was given that courtesy as they were given #1 seed over Baylor. The committee is supposed to take into account travel time, different time zones, and fan travel difficulty. Last year we were not given consideration in ANY of these factors. WE WON NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ANYWAY! It seems very clear that we will never get the same consideration as other top seeded teams. So this year, I think the team motto for tournament should be “WIN ANYWAY”!
We are considered the #7 before #8 Texas. That was how the committee ranked us at end of season. So, no we were not considered worst #2 seed...that would be Texas

The bottom line is...We will have to beat UCONN at some point, to win the Championship again. Doesn’t really matter whether it’s in the Elite 8 or the National Championship game.
Probably but not certainly. Admittedly it would require a monumental upset to avert that need.
The only such rules I'm aware of in baseball is that a regional cannot have more than one team per conference. No such restriction applies in the supers to the best of my knowledge.
