We need to shut them down or slow them down in the second half, take care of the ball, and pound it down low.

We can wear these girls out with our depth. We're playing 10 evenly with ND playing 5 primarily and 3 very little.

Excellent year, but Dawn needs to play zone more. Gave up a lot of open baskets.
Zone is what you play when you are too small, in foul trouble, or have no depth.

Sure, you can use it to switch things up a little, but with a team like ND, you'll just end up giving up threes.

On defense, our problem was getting our matchups after a failed offensive possession. When ND would rebound a USC miss, we never had our assignments. That's when ND made their biggest scoring runs.

Bench players don't win championships. Stars win championships. If you don't believe me, ask Geno Auriemma. UCONN had 3 players who scored 73 points combined last night and all played 39 minutes.

It almost worked out for us though. ND was gassed and had already fouled two players out.

I agree it almost worked against ND. But that's a far cry from winning a championship considering that UCONN would be waiting in the final game.

Good news is that I foresee this not being a problem next year with Mitchell, Coates, and Wilson solidly anchoring the starting lineup.

You'll see Sessions and Dozier in there as well. Losing Welch is big, but Ibiam was not a starter. I hate it, but as the tournament wore on, she wasn't one of the top bigs for us.

Sessions, Dozier, Mitchell, Coates, and Wilson starting with Roy, Cuevas, and White coming off of the bench is solid.

We need that PG from Canada to come through. Also would love to see if Duckett and Cliney can play.

We may be in on some JuCo recruits as well.
