Apparently we’ve sold all our tickets and had to request more

Well it is under 5000. The correct number is 3000.

"The SEC negotiated a reduction from 8,000 tickets to 3,000 tickets for each school’s allotment for its secondary pool of six bowls — Outback, Gator, Music City, Duke’s Mayo, Liberty, Texas."

“The feedback that we got was that (athletic directors) didn’t want to be in the ticket business anymore, and that’s understandable from the university side of it,” Ramsey said. “I can market tickets all year long rather than holding two big 10,000-seat blocks for unknown teams and then risk them not being sold in a few days.”

But with the rise of online sales and the secondary market, fans can choose their seat instantly based on a price point. And it doesn’t leave schools with unsold tickets because of outdated methods.
Thanks for finding/sharing.

Yet another example of why I hang around FGF - to find out how bowl ticket allotments work.

Still, it appears to me that ADs are in the ticket business for regular season games.

Ramsey appeared to have distinguished the two when he compared selling tickets all year long as opposed to having to sell large blocks of tickets within a few days. My guess he was saying they are not really set up for the latter.

Emails went out about tickets Sunday and then again yesterday. I got one, as did a great many of my fellow GCC members.
However, I do know many times over the years there are GCC members that for whatever reason will get some of their e-blasts and then nothing other times. There's a bug in the system somewhere.
Here is my issue......from any standpoint, our university, so far, has done very little to promote the bowl game and motivate fans to attend. I work with 2 UNC grads and asked them what they are getting. They said they are being flooded with emails from their athletic department , the Rams Club (their Gamecock Club), the alumni association and the university ticket office. They even got a mailer at home promoting the bowl game. The headline of the mailer was "The Only Carolina". Also said they are getting info about multiple hospitality and tailgate events around BofA stadium encouraging them to buy tickets and attend all the events.

Our athletic department is simply the worst marketers and promoters in big school college sports. Terrible.

Understandable; UNC fans know they are highly likely to experience a win.

Why do y'all act like any of this is new or a surprise? We are poorly run from top to bottom. We need a total enema to right this thing. Start with the BOT and end it with concessions lol

That, from my experience here in Atlanta, is true.

My rather unscientific awareness is that I see lots more publicity here for things Clemron than I do USC. Seems like we're about on par with UnCarolina.

Somehow, there's a feeling of "entitlement" at being the "flagship" university in SC. I think the Pickens County institution uses this to try harder at marketing - and they succeed.
