Binge worthy Shows?

It's not even about flip phones, but his complete unfamiliarty with the internet, or even the concept of the internet at first. But it's a decent show. I like where they are heading into season 3.
You are describing my brother to a tee.he is 61,they don’t have internet at home except on his wife and daughter cell,he still has a flip phone.has a old computer that has windows me on it.They don’t cut it on no more far as I know.he has had no need for modern technology.they do have dish network but he watches mostly on an outside antenna.Living the simple life I guess.he asks me to look for something on Amazon to order once in a blue moon.he said he doesn’t need any of that stuff.I get what you’re saying about Johnny though.

Broadchurch
The Leftovers
The Sinner (season 1)
On Becoming a God in Central Florida
Mr. Mercedes
Top of the Lake
Berlin Station
The Handmaid's Tale

Most of these are fairly dark, but well worth the time investment.

Handmaid's Tale was too heavy for me. I like gritty and dark shows, but I can't watch people get abused and mistreated raped and maimed but for so long before I'm out. There has to be something like a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere. Same with Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. When it's all misery and doom and gloom all the time, it's hard for me to get into it.

Understandable. Handmaids Tale is not a fun watch. The dystopian future is diffucult to get thru at times (you're 100% right). I never got into TWD so I can't comment on iGoT was very good until season 7, and thn season 8 happened & it just all went to shít. D&D were terrible at writing a script when there was no book for them to follow.

Ozark peeps: just watched episode 1 and am intrigued, but not sure if I can get over why the guy was taking on so much risk to lead what seemed like a pretty mediocre existence? Yes $8M in the bank, but at some point just not worth it if you’re not going to bother using it. Is that explained in the series? Not looking for spoiler. Just curious.

I'm holding off watching season three of Ozark because I don't want the series to end. It is that good. And I keep thinking that if I would have kicked Jason Bateman's butt in that Vegas casino in 1998, he may never have been cast in the series.
And I quit drinking (temporarliy) last week and have been watching The 100 since I can't sleep at night. It is enjoyable but really stretches reality at times.
I'm glad this thread was posted - I have plenty of new series to watch on my boss's Neflix code.

The Ranch was good. A certain cast member leaving ruined it for me. But I enjoyed it.

My wife and I are just about to finish Hell on Wheels. Fantastic series if you like Westerns and late 1800s American history. The lead character, Cullen Bohannon played by Anson Mount, is about as conflicted and badass as they come. All five seasons are on Netflix.

I just started "Away" and so far so good. The technology involved in producing this film is mind boggling to me. It all seems so realistic. The characters do a good job for the most part but I can see where the story line might get bogged down a bit as the episodes unfold. We shall see....

On Netflix

I liked Reckoning. I hope it continues. I am in the middle of Rectify, also very good.

I highly recommend Kim's Convenience. It is a hilarious Canadian sitcom.

I watched a couple of episodes and then lost interest. It's been cancelled now so I doubt I will finish the season.

Doc Martin
Wallander
George Gently
Foyle’s War
Broadchurch
Endeavor
Shetland

A new one just appeared on Netflix, The Liberator, based on the book of the same name. It is the story of The Thunderbird Division which fought for some 500 days in WWII. It is a special animated, four part series, but I watched all in one day. As a WWII amateur historian, who has visited many of the places they fought, I found it very good.

I really enjoyed that, but if you haven't finished it, be forwarned. It ended abruptly. So much so that I Googled it to see what the issue was. Turns out, Fla Keys cut off tax incentives so they cut it short.
I wondered about that myself. The last season was so screwed up I couldn't tell what was real or imagined. The first two seasons were mostly great.

Since the pandemic thing started, I’ve watched, Narcos and Narcos: Mexico.

Currently watching Mindhunter and Master of None for the funny (he’s from South Carolina).

I recommend all.
Both of those are excellent. Two others that are very similar are Queen of the South (female run Cartel) and Bad Blood (Canadian mafia show based on real life)

The 1st two episodes of the mandalorian S2 is interesting.episode 2 has caused a lot of controversy but I see nothing wrong with it.

"Queen's Gambit" on Netflix is excellent.

Great acting and character development. Will also make you want to get out the old chess set.

Cannot recommend Hannibal enough. While no one will ever top Sir Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, Mads Mikelson is really good. Also I like Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford SO much better than either Scott Glen (SOTL), Dennis Farina (Manhunter), and Harvey Keitel (Red Dragon).
Last Kingdom
Vikings
Plenty of killing and sex in both of those.
Oh yeah...and there's this one called Game Of Thrones.
Ozark is AMAZING!
Yellowstone just started season 3 on Paramount.
YOU is a crazy wild twist on stalking gone too far.
Is there any way to watch earlier seasons of yellowstone? All I can find are the most recent 2 or 3 episodes

So...with no sports in the horizon what's a good series to watch. I just finished Outlander and Sense 8. FYI, I like killing and sex type shows so keep that in mind. Laughing
I thoroughly enjoyed Norsemen on Netfix, a parody on a viking village where the Vikings are portayed with 21st century sensitivies. Thought I was hilarious. Some suggestive scenes but otherwise family friendly.
