You mean a Longhorn hears about your coaches being hired before you do?
It's basketball season.

my wife says I smell like human garbage after a spicy meal.Crabtree caught the ball with 2 seconds left, not .02. Football clocks don't work that way.
Regardless, if a freshman mistake makes Longhorns fan hate the kid forever, then I think the only true "negative" is those Longhorn fans. Because, seriously, missing an INT, one which bounced off a helmet and hit Gideon in the chest WHILE HE WAS DIVING wasn't the reason that you lost that game. Allowing a 40 yard kick return, soft coverage, and poor tackling lost that game. Any Texas fan who holds a grudge against him is human garbage.
Is this the "stuff" you were referring to? Pretty dang weak, Longhorn.

We were actually a basketball school in the McGuire days. Football and basketball were close. It took getting really bad to kill basketball. Is Frank Martin turning y'all into a basketball school? I thought SC was football, football and then baseball, then more football.
Well there is a negative. A huge negative. Mention his name to a Longhorn fan and you can expect to hear an exasperated groan. One of those names you just don't want to hear again. Don't worry, it won't make him a bad coach, he may use it to be even better.
Why? We think he cost us a national championship. Think back to the 2008 season. Texas had a really good team quarterbacked by Colt McCoy, with a bunch of future NFLers like Brian Orapko. Wound up No. 4 in the nation at 12-1. Beat A&M 49-9, Arkansas 52-10, Oklahoma 45-35, Missouri 56-31, and finished beating Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. The sole loss was to Mike Leach's Texas Tech in Lubbock. Texas Tech has always been a wimp on the road, but Lubbock is a hard place to win. Texas manged to go ahead with a TD with 30 seconds to play. Tech got the ball and moved to mid field with 15 seconds left. Tech overthrows a WR and it hits the safety, Blake Gideon, right in his stomach. I mean it was drilled down the field right at a freshman safety. It hits him in the stomach and he drops it. With .02 seconds left Mike Crabtree, later a SF No.1 pick, despite tight double coverage, catches a TD to upset the Longhorns. So many, many Longhorns think he cost us a national championship game at the very least, likely more. Florida didn't look very impressive beating Oklahoma and had lost to Ole Miss, Texas played the Sooners at least as well as Florida did.
