Totally agree! The entire team recognized that shutting down Booker was the key to winning the game. What I found interesting is that the team also protected the paint by not closely playing the Texas women who weren’t 3-point shooters. Harmon and others were left alone whenever they went outside the 3-point line. At all times 3 to 4 of our players were ready to collapse to protect the paint. Great game plan by the coaching staff.
That kind of defense has a tendency to make a lot of players look below average! It seems Dawn has gotten a bunch of star athletes to buy into being a group of role players, so it's a good system. I love watching Tessaa play!
Did you see the video of the game at Texas where Booker told Hall “you can’t f_____ stop me.” After the game Sunday Hall said something like “looks like I can easily stop you.”
