I don't hate christian Laettner. A lot of black players didn't like him because he beat them like the fab five.

I really enjoyed watching him play in college. Even found myself pulling for Duke a good bit during that era.

What? Come on Bo.

He stomped on that KY player's chest during the game where he hot that last second shot. He should have been thrown out

I liked Leattner, Bobby Hurley and Grant Hill. I loved Duke because teams like Michigan and the fab 5, Georgetown etc hated them. No question Leattner got away with a thug act against Kentucky in the NCAA tournament but overall I liked Duke. Still do.

If you knew the harm Duke has done to USC you would not pull for them.

O lord.......please tell us the latest so and so who tried to destroy USC?

Hated the guy then, and still do today. Dirty player, on a dirty team, led by a dirty coach. I was glad to fab 5 had the stones to say what they did. Also, how do you stomp someones chest and not be suspended? Only Duke player i have ever liked was Johnny Dawkins.

I think it was a UConn player and you are correct. He should have been ejected. I never could stand the Duke Blue Devils and still can't stand them. Anytime anyone plays them they will receive biased officiating. It's disgusting.

I met him in a pizza hut following a UNC game in Durham. His family and girlfriend with Grant Hill's family and girlfriend at the time, now wife I think. Nice folks. He was a winner, cannot dispute that.
Funny thing, at the time I think it was rumored he was gay because he and Davis (forget first name) were close. If the boy was gay, he had a smoking cover sitting with him at dinner.

Nope, it was a Kentucky player-----Aminu Timberlake. Going to the monitor for the refs was not allowed back then in '92. If it happened today, it's an easy Flagrant 2 and he's gone.

Good find. I remember the incident but got confused about who it happened against. Was that the same game he hit the buzzer beater from around the free throw line?

Yes. That's why Kentucky fans were so pissed. If Laettner had been kicked out, he wouldn't have hit that shot, and UK would've won. But I guess we'll never know. I love Laettner, btw.

Just watched the video- calling that a "stomp" is a stretch- my kids would step on me harder than that when they were toddlers playing in the den!

He was a crybaby and I find it hilarious Jerry Stackhouse threw him a beating. And I'm glad you guys could turn this into another commentary on race. Good stuff.

FYI - if you hate Laettner, the. I suggest you skip out on the 30 for 30. You probably won't like it.

Please tell us a tale that happened 70 years ago.
