CBS sports - Bobo to South Carolina

Time to stop the snitting! We all better pray BoBo gets it done! Muschamp has not been granted this staff overhaul for one year. It's Muschamp for 2-3 more years. Grit your Gamecock teeth and pray things get better in the won loss column

Buddy retread. It's not set for success. Evidently the AD and board don't look at losing records. They needed someone who can innovate, not run the same old tired plays.

I'm going to support this staff unless or until it becomes impossible to do so. We need for our team to improve and we don't need to have to start over. So, I'm pulling for these guys. I hope they make it happen.
We may not be happy, but we are all pulling for them. You can be both. But I agree , it's time to calm it down. BTW here's a prediction....McClendon and BoBo co offensive coordinators and BoBo calling plays. You can't demote the guy, keep him onstaff, and pay him a million dollars. We have no official word from USC. Tanner said he was happy with all the coaches when he defended Muschamp. Champ can stick it to all the media and us rumor mongers by correcting the erroneous info. And he maintains his guy's status. BoBo knows how it works. If I were Muschamp, that is what I would do.He cannot make us fans any madder, but he can salvage staff morale.

If you can't see the truth about Muschamp by now, a truth that nearly everyone in the college football universe sees, not just messageboard posters, then there is no saving you. No program in the country would consider Muschamp for their head coach right now and probably never will. I don't know what kind of learning disability is going around but if you think Muschamp should still have a job here you should see some specialists.

none of this has anything to do with whether or not Bobo can coach offense. He clearly can.

Likely a good hire. We'll see.

This was admin's stab at getting attention off of a bad head coach - pegging the offensive as the issue to buy more time.

Meanwhile, a pretty healthy defense was ranked 70th this year. Closing the year with UT, App State, A&M and Clemson moving the ball up and down the field at will. Clemson could have scored 80 with ease if they had chosen to.

We will not be a predictable offense next year, period. We may still not score very much but Bobo will be entertaining in the plays.
Unless we have some sure handed receivers ready to start next year the O won’t be better

I'm happy with the hire. I think this is what we needed on offense. A proven experienced OC with a proven record calling plays and developing QB's. Sorry for the Muschamp haters. It looks like he will be around for a while. Go Gamecocks....

This won't age well.

Maybe this is the guy that Muschamp can trust enough to stay away from. In the long run, that may be the thing that matters most. We seem to lack it in all facets of the program

Good point and I think people are underestimating this aspect of it. If Bobo accepts the USC OC job over interest from other programs, it will likely be a multi-year deal as I'm sure he won't want to be back on the market a year from now. Meanwhile, Muschamp's buyout will still be north of $14 million next fall. So, if $19 million was too expensive to make a move this year, will $14 million plus Bobo's buyout seem affordable a year from now?

My guess is that may be a key reason BOT approval is needed for an assistant coach. They may be asking for a multi-year commitment.

This is nothing more than another good ol boy buddy hire.

The Disney fans are eating this up like its a fix. Nice overall PR move by Carolina this will shut a lot of people up and put them back on the wait and see train

I'm not going to say Bobo is NOT the answer, or say he WILL make a difference, because I'm not clairvoyant.
What I will say is, that this hire doesn't inspire a lot of optimism, as far as I'm concerned.

I hope Coach BoBo is the “offense whisperer” because that’s what this team needs. He sounds like the most legit OC hire Muschamp has ever made as HC. I’m shocked that Tanner and the BOT moved so fast on this.

But surely you agree he is better than what we had the past 4 years? My question is will Muschamp leave BoBo alone and allow him to run the offense!

Who is the answer? Many on FGF will not be please regardless of who is hired. Yet, many of those same people would condemn USC if Bobo went elsewhere.

Go Gamecocks!

SC 95
MHOFWIW...

1ST Choice: Bentley

2nd Choice: Bobo

We'll see what we'll see in the next 10-24 months.

I'm OK w/ Bobo, but like I said, if it were up to me, it would have been Bentley for what's best in regards to the immediate and post Champ years.

Again, JMHOFWIW

I see no reason to hate on Bobo I hope it ends up as a great hire. I’m way more concerned about leadership of the overall sports program. Fix that and a lot of these coaching moves we may or may not have to make in the near future are bound to go a lot better.
